From Pastor Carl: In this week's service I will be proclaiming that I See Great Things for St. Luke's. This will be the last service I lead for St. Luke's. It has been a joy and a privilege to serve as your pastor. I see you continuing powerfully in mission and ministry. I will be in prayer for you as you go through the transition to a new, vibrant, excited, and enthusiastic pastor to lead you into the Lord's future for you as a congregation. God bless you for all the love an...d support you have shown Triss, Holly and me! At the end of this week's service will be a Thanksgiving and Farewell at the Conclusion of a Call. A copy as well as the bulletin for the service for this week were sent out via email. The service will post early tomorrow morning (Sunday) on our website, www.slelca.org. I would be honored if you would view this service. Drive-through prayer will be available tomorrow (Sunday) from 9:30 to 11 a.m. unless it is raining. Pastor Ron Zoesch will be serving as your pastor for a few weeks until arrangements are made for an interim pastor, so you will be in good hands. This is the last post I will be sending out as your church pastor. Goodbye and God bless. Pastor Carl

From Pastor Carl: We celebrate All Saints Day this week remembering "The Lord Is My Shepherd" and giving thanks for those who have shown His shepherding love to us. The service will post early Sunday morning on our website, www.slelca.org. The bulletin for the service was sent via email. Thank you to those who have responded about whether you would like to participate in in person worship at this time. About twenty people indicated they would like to. About the same number in...dicated they are not ready at this time. I will take this information to the Worship and Music Board and the Reopening Task force. We will let you know if and when we might reopen for in person worship this year. In the meantime, we will continue Drive-Through Prayer on Sunday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the church parking lot. Again, we are a voting center, so there will be a lot of cars parked in the parking lot. Just drive through the gate to the usual spot where I will pray with you as you stay at a safe distance in your car. See more

What a Sunday we have in store! We will begin our celebration of Reformation Sunday with the baptisms of Jun, Ezekiel, Izaiah, and Jai Lia Vang. Then Izaiah and Jai Lia Vang will be confirmed. We will have a guest trumpet player leading us in "A Mighty Fortress" and providing special music. I will be preaching on how God tells us, "I Promise to Be Your God". Amber Mansfield and her grandmother, Connie Reule, will serve as acolytes and worship leaders. They are quite a great ...pair. You don't want to miss it! The service will be posted on our website, www.slelca.org, early Sunday morning. The bulletin was sent via email. Drive-Through Prayer will be available in the church parking lot from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. I will be in the same location as usual. We won't have cones up as we are voting center from October 24 through November 3. The voting center is open for you to vote or drop off your ballot from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day and then on November 3 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

From Pastor Carl: Rejoice in the salvation and right relationship with God Jesus has won for you. Don't Take It Lightly. This week I will consider how important that is. It is quite appropriate that we will celebrate Laren Richey's Confirmation during the service. She has gone through a lot to get to this day, always willing to do what was needed to show her commitment to the Lord and His way for her life. I am very proud of her as I am of all the Confirmands. The service will post early Sunday morning on our website, www.slelca.org. The bulletin for the service was sent via email.

"You may use it." are exciting words to hear when someone lets us use something we know is precious to them. They are showing us a lot of trust in doing that. This week I will explore how God is showing us a lot of trust by letting us use lives in this world. They are His and are precious to Him. We want to make sure to give them back to Him, having used them well and with care. We will be celebrating Noella Sondrini's Confirmation this week. We will be celebrating several C...onfirmations this fall. Due to safety concerns, we will need to do them one at a time. We have a wonderful group of young people this year taking a big step in their Christian lives. The bulletin for Sunday was sent out via email. The service will post early Sunday morning on our website, www.slelca.org. Drive-through prayer will be available in the church parking lot from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

From Pastor Carl: Good decisions often come as a result of looking at a situation and Thinking It Over. What's going on? How can I deal constructively with the situation? What will I do? In this week's sermon I will explore the importance of "thinking it over", examining situations we are in and deciding how we can best move forward. The service will post early Sunday morning on our website, www.slelca.org. The bulletin for the service was sent out via email. Drive-through Prayer will be available in the church parking lot from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday. I will have copies of the new devotional booklet available. If you would like a copy and won't be coming to drive-through prayer, let me know and I will mail one to you.
