Our Mission of providing care for all means that our charity care programs and services extend beyond the walls of our hospital and directly into neighborhoods that have the greatest needs. Helping our patients heal in a safe environment is our first priority. A close second is making sure they have an outstanding experience while in our care. We are proud to be the recipient of this honor. #sacredencounters
As the largest care network in Orange County, Providence is specially tuned to the needs of our community, whether it's better management of chronic illness, addressing mental health concerns, expanding access to care or providing the expertise and resources needed during an unprecedented health crisis.
It's that time of year again for flu shots! Recently our Community Relations team worked together with Blessed Sacrament Church and the Vietnamese Pharmacists Association, USA, to offer the community free flu shots provided by the Orange County Health Agency. The event took place at Blessed Sacrament Church in Westminster which serves a diverse community of parishioners, community members and the homeless. With the collaboration and support of the church, volunteers, and St. Joseph Hospital’s PPE donations, 117 community members successfully received their flu shot. We're committed to keeping our community members safe and flu free.
Today is the day! Get out and vote. It is a privilege in our country to let our voices be heard don’t miss the opportunity! #vote
Community comes first. That's why Providence provided our partner, Jamboree Housing Corporation, with a $9 million bridge loan to tackle homelessness in Orange County. We're proud to play a role in the creation of more supportive housing in Orange County and beyond! #ProvidenceOC http://provhealth.org/6185H69At
St. Joseph Hospital Foundation’s annual fundraising gala, Celebration 2020, had its Biggest Night In as attendees celebrated in the comfort of their own home. The event raised nearly $600,000 for the Progressive Care Unit which will offer an additional 20 patient beds, providing a higher level of care. Guests enjoyed an evening of fine dining, silent auctions, paddle raise, and in-home entertainment. In addition, the Spirit of St. Joseph Award, which honors donors who embody the Spirit of St. Joseph in their work, was presented by video to Curtis Kauffman and Myrna and Melvin Schwartz, MD. Thank you to our sponsors that hosted their family, friends and colleagues for the eveningyour loyal support is truly appreciated!
This Halloween our Executive Management Team went all out! The costume theme was cereal box characters, and we’re sure you’ll recognize a few or all! The team split up into a couple groups and reversed trick or treated through the campus delivering candy safely to all our caregivers. They had a great time. We hope you had a great Halloween too!
Happy Halloween! As you and your family celebrate, remember to keep safety in mind. Please continue to wear your masks, physically distance and practice proper hand hygiene.
We choose to pursue Joint Commission Certification on an ongoing basis. The standards set forth and its emphasis on clinical practice guidelines help us establish a consistent approach to care, reducing the risk of error. And now, more than ever before, nothing is more important to us than the safety of our patients and caregivers. #sacredencounters
Let’s celebrate emergency nurses! This year, emergency nurses are on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic with selfless devotion to safe care for the ill and injured. We celebrate each and every nurse and give a special thanks to St. Joe’s Emergency Care Center nurses. https://www.providence.org/news/uf/634126027
World Stroke Day underscores the sobering statistics of stroke, while aiming to increase awareness of its prevention and treatment. At St. Joe’s we will always pursue the best care options possible and support for stroke survivors. Remember, if you suspect a stroke: BE FAST, which stands for: Balance (loss of balance?), Eyes (tracking?), Face (uneven?), Arm (weak or numb?), Speech (slurred?), Time (don’t wait to call 911). #sacredencounters https://www.providence.org//st-joseph-hospit/neurosciences
What are your plans for Halloween? In order to help prevent the spread of disease, consider changing up your tradition this year. Stay in, carve pumpkins, dip apples and watch It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown with your kids in their costumes. It may not look the same, but it will be a fun memory for years to come! #SJOMaskAndGo
