Like any journey upon which we set out, a journey on the way of love requires us to pay attention not only to where we are, but also the vision of where we are going. Through the grace of God we have the Holy Spirit to guide us. For the Spirit is present with us in the Here and Now, and is also present in the Not Yet. Such is the meaning of the eternal nature of God.

The act of forgiveness requires a change of heart by both the one seeking forgiveness and the one forgiving. It happens through the grace of God working in our lives. It is an act of love returning the love given to us by God.

MORNING PRAYER FOR FRIDAY OF PROPER 27

We often have to remind ourselves that we are never alone. The Holy Spirit is always present with us, guiding us, nudging us, leading us, as we travel the Way of Love. There may be times when we allow our worries and anxieties to distract us from the Spirit's presence, but we may live with the blessed assurance that the Spirit is always there.

To be a follower of Jesus Christ we must be in relationship with not just God, but also each other. We must learn to listen to each other, not only with our ears, but also with our hearts. We must humble ourselves, so that the love of Christ may flow through us to the other. Such is the way of love.
