To the strangers of Stew James Stewart, I am writing this letter to introduce you to Mr. James Stewart aka Stew, not the Stew the media is trying to portray. S...tew has never settled, he’s never gave up, and with those traits and what drove him to become Mayor is the same way he treated all walks of life. He never allowed for them to give up, he helped them overcome challenges, he helped people climb to new heights and redefine their family tree. He was the example, if he could do it so could you! He motivated anyone he spoke to; he is a very respectful and a true leader. Did you know Stew traveled around the world helping people of other nations, such as Haiti, Cuba, Nepal, Africa, India and Egypt assisting the less fortunate by building homes, water wells, water filtration systems, elementary schools, hydroponic farming systems. He aided in supplying mosquito nets, eyeglasses, vehicles for pastors, educational training, medical supplies, monthly support for orphanages, and various other projects. The love Stew displays goes far past his community or to a single race. My family and I have known Stew for nearly 30 years. I was a single mother of 2 and a Mexican born American citizen. My relationship with Stew started when he provided me with an opportunity at one of his store locations after I graduated school. Over the 20+ years I have worked for and with Stew he has always had the community’s best interest at heart and treated those that worked for him like family. Stew and his family provided me with opportunities that my parents could only have dreamed would be possible when they relocated our family to California from Mexico. I became the first in my family to receive a degree from a college in the United States and became the first child to purchase a house. How were these first accomplished? Largely because of the assistance of Stew and his family. Stew gained trust in me and I ran one of his locations for him. He also helped me secure a loan on my first house, and also helped me with college and my scheduling needs to ensure I could reach my educational goals. Stew had a business to run and that did not stop him from pushing me to become the one or the first and it didn’t stop with myself. He wants everyone that he encounters to become the best they choose to be. Stew is a man of faith and only sees one race, the Human Race. He is a man that will help anyone become the first. He is a character driven man and believes in equal opportunity for all. Stew is not a man of hate and certainly is not a racist. Stew is a champion, one that anyone would be thankful to know and have as a friend. Does any of this sound like a man that is racist? Technology is a great thing however it also can make us look foolish at times as well. I ask that people take a minute and do not cast stones, look in the mirror and own the mistakes you have made in life and give the same forgiveness you may have received to this man that only wants for people to become the first, to become the one! #westandwithstew See more
