Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us! Today is the 103rd anniversary of the last apparition in Fatima and the Miracle of the Sun. Let us all heed Our Blessed Mother’...s call to conversion and turn back to God. Next to the sun appeared first the Holy Family: St. Joseph with Our Lady and the Child Jesus, who blessed the world, raising His hand in the form of a cross. Then the children saw Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows with Our Lord Jesus Christ, who again blessed the world. Lastly, Our Lady of Mount Carmel appeared alone. ~Excerpt from: https://bit.ly/34Oj1wO
The Gospel today is from Mathew 22:1-14, the parable of the king inviting the guests to the banquet. His servants summon the guests but they refuse. A second time he sent other servants... "everything is ready; come to the feast." Some ignored the invitation and went away, one to his farm, another to his business. The rest laid hold of his servants,... mistreated them, and killed them. Then the King sent his servants and had them "invite to the feast whomever you find.’ Many are invited, but few are chosen." https://watch.formed.org//daily-reflections-october-11-2020
This 15 year old Italian who died in 2006 from leukemia is being beatified tomorrow in Assisi, Italy. His love for the Eucharist is an inspiration for all people, young and old. The Eucharist strengthened him and can strengthen us. Carlo Acutis was a "computer geek" who also enjoyed soccer and online / video gaming. One of Carlo’s most significant computer ventures was cataloguing all the Eucharistic miracles of the world. He started the project when he was 11 years old a...nd wrote at the time, The more Eucharist we receive, the more we will become like Jesus, so that on this earth we will have a foretaste of Heaven. Servant of God, and soon to be Blessed Carlo Acutis, pray for us that we may grow in our devotion to, and understanding and reverence of the Blessed Sacrament. Give your petitions to Carlo Acutis. He will certainly present them to our Eucharistic Lord. Have a peaceful and blessed weekend.
New Bible Sharing Group The Parish is starting a new monthly Bible Sharing group. The group will meet on the first Wednesday evenings of the month at 7:30 PM and will be led by Terence Leung and Father Paul. It will be a one-hour meeting via Zoom. 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time Second Reading Philippians 4:6-9... Brothers and sisters: Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me. Then the God of peace will be with you.
