September is #NationalPACEMonth, which is an annual opportunity to celebrate the work of PACE staff and increase awareness of the benefits of the PACE program a...nd all that it provides to seniors. Our PACE staff always works hard and is dedicated to serving our participants. Still, more than ever, they have stepped up, and shown diligence, determination, dedication, and have been exceptional throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. They have been flexible and have jumped right in as we've adjusted the way we run our program, and as we've implemented several new tactics and services to support our seniors. A reminder from our St. Paul’s PACE participants: Make sure you are wearing your mask, washing your hands, and practicing social distancing to keep you and others safe!

On Friday, in honor of #NationalSeniorCitizensDay, 129 of our St. Paul's PACE participants across 5 communities received a hot meal and other goodies. The meals... and activity books were provided by the President of the Bike Buddies Cycling Club, Mark Allan, who has also served on our Board of Directors for over 20 years, and his wife, Maria. They are very committed to the mission of St. Paul's. St. Paul's staff and members of the bike club prepared bags which included a meal, activity books, and other goodies, which got hand-delivered Friday afternoon. These seniors who received meals have been isolated in their apartments during COVID-19 and were formerly homeless, and now are served by St. Paul’s PACE and have a safe place to live. These seniors were so thankful for the generosity of Mark and his fellow bike club members.

During COVID-19, visits with loved ones while they are hospitalized or in a skilled nursing facility have been suspended. This lack of real-time patient support..., comfort, and advocacy is challenging for everyone. However, it is possible to keep in touch and to remain informed with just some additional planning so that you can support and advocate for your loved ones. See more

St. Paul's PACE San Diego has opened its fourth location. The new site in Encinitas, CA, will serve seniors from central San Diego to Oceanside. We have been s...erving seniors in the North County area for a while now. This allows us to provide services much closer to their homes, Carol Hubbard, chief community services officer. See more
