Our nation and its people are feeling the crippling weight of sin and the paralysis that comes from the loss of a sense of God. Our streets have become frenzied with violent self-destruction, mired in senseless conflict. As Catholic men and women, we have the power of prayer to unite our country. Unite Our Nation, founded by the laity, is a non-political organization formed to help bring peace and prayer to local communities, and healing to our nation. Please join St. Columba... and other parishes on Saturday, October 10, at 1:00 p.m. for a rosary procession starting at the San Diego County Administration Building. It’s a family friendly event. A Eucharistic rosary rally is a time to give witness to people of all races and beliefs. Keep polarizing politics out of this rally and focus on prayer to unite our nation. If you are interested in attending, please reach out to Freddie Bustria at (619) 733-4485. We will carpool from St. Columba. In the meantime, take a look at the Unite Our Nation website www.uniteournation.net to learn more and get more details on this event!

This weekend, Sep. 12-13, we will participate in the Holy Land Collection (normally held on Good Friday). Through the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, you stand in solidarity with the Church in the Holy Land as a witness of peace, supporting Catholics there in parishes and schools, maintaining Christian shrines and caring for refugees in the Holy Land. There are no special envelopes for this collection. Use a white supplementary envelope or your own plain envelope and mark it Holy Land.
