Dear SRUSD Families, Beginning Monday, February 1st, our Nutrition Services Department will be delivering meals Monday - Friday at various locations between the hours of 12 PM and 2 PM. Please visit our website www.santaritaschools.org for a list of delivery locations. Please only pick up a breakfast and a lunch at one of our designated locations for those in your home that are between the ages of 1 and 18. If you are picking up meals for your children you will need to provid...e their names and what school they attend if they attend one. Children do not need to be enrolled in our district schools to receive meals. For your safety and the safety of our staff please wear a face covering when picking up meals. *We will not deliver meals if it is raining. We will continue to monitor our serving options and modify them as needed. Thank you for your patience and understanding through this process. Dear Families, It is with the heaviest of heart that I bring to you the devastating news of the passing of Bolsa Knolls Middle School Principal, Mr. John Gutierrez, Sunday morning. We are terribly saddened by the loss of this cornerstone of the Santa Rita family and are sure that the grief it has created will not soon pass. Tomorrow morning teachers will be reaching out to students through homerooms to talk about Mr. Gutierrez and to offer support. We will be providing ad...ditional counseling services for the foreseeable future and we will take all the time we need to ensure that each of our students have the time, support and love they need to process this loss. The second week of October every year is fire prevention week. This year’s theme is ‘serve up fire safety in the kitchen,’. The Salinas firefighters invite families to take a break from their kitchens and get out in the community to support their local businesses and take a picture with the fire trucks! Firefighters want to welcome our community outdoors for take-out or dine-in outside at local restaurants in honor of Fire Prevention Week!

Dear SRUSD Parents and Families, The USDA and California Department of Education have extended a key waiver for school nutrition programs. This waiver will once again allow us to serve meals to all members of the household who are 18 years and younger. Beginning September 1, 2020 we will resume this service until further notice. Due to air quality we will not be serving meals tomorrow, Monday, August 24th. We will resume service on Tuesday, August 25th and Thursday, August 27th. Meals can be picked up from 9 AM to 1 PM at Bolsa Knolls Middle School, New Republic Elementary, and Santa Rita Elementary. You will receive meals for 2 days.
