The global impact of Covid has ground much of the world to halt. We all buckled down, adjusted to a new reality and worked hard to stay positive and healthy. Still, it’s hard not to mourn what could have been. Since 2012 Mount Royal University (MRU) from Calgary, Canada has brought a field studies program to Sri Ram Ashram. This is one of our most highly anticipated and meaningful events. Unfortunately, MRU had to cancel their 2020 program due to Covid. If normal had happened... they would have visited in May. SRA would have been brimming with dance classes, projects, in-depth discussions, playtime, swimming and parties. In July we planned on taking 3-4 ashram children to Calgary, Canada (Yes, really) to participate in an International Social Work conference and to see the beautiful sites in and around Calgary. It was the trip of a lifetime. Due to Covid all these dynamic events were cancelled. Every visit MRU paints a new mural on the swimming pool. It was both heartbreaking and heartwarming to see Kamal, a talented artist who painted with MRU in 2018, decide to repaint the mural himself. Other children joined him and it’s become an ashram project. Kudos to Kamal and the kids for forging ahead, keeping up tradition and beautifying SRA. The mural is beautiful. See more

Sri Ram Ashram also supports Crossfit Sri Ram Ashram. Crossfit Sri Ram Ashram was the first Crossfit affiliate in India. The children are avid Crossfitters and work out everyday. We are grateful for all the donations we received for equipment and of course our wonderful playground which gives unless opportunities for workouts.
