Vijaydashmi(Dussehra) ( Victory of good (dharma) over Evil ( Adharma) Dussehra is the festival of Hindus celebrated at end of navratri of every year in Hindu calander in the month of Ashwin. Following are some points why Hindus celebrate vijaydashmi.These points are examples which shows vijaydashmi is symbol of victory of good over evil .... (1)Vijaydashmi marks the end of Durga puja remembering victory of goddess Durga over evils to restore and protect dharma. (2) Victory of Lord Rama over Ravan. (3) On this day Arjun defeated alone all kaurwans included Bhisham pitamah and Dronacharya,kripachary and Ashwatthama. (4) On this day in some regions of India after Durga puja ends devotees immersed the clay statues of Durga, Ganesha,maa kali,maa Lakshmi,maa Saraswati and Kartikeya into river by accompanied music and chants for dissolution and farewell. (5) On this day statue of Ravan symbolizing evil are burnt with fireworks.after twenty days of Dussehra festival of light Diwali is celebrated.
