From our principal Hello All, We received wonderful news from the French Embassy: The Consul General of the United States in Paris confirmed that the exemption for the J-1 visa suspension will apply to teachers working in state-supported schools, so it will cover our teachers. We have therefore won our case for the issuance of J1 visas! Personally, I am not opening the champagne until our incoming teachers actually have their visas, but it certainly looks promising for ha...ving them join us sooner rather than later. From Ms. VanProoyen :) A group of 6th graders gets up early three days a week to attend CS Discoveries class in the Zero Period. This week they were working to finish coding personal websites demonstrating knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Merci Teachers: We are Proud of Our State Test Results Thank you to all of our teachers for the hard work they do to nurture our students in the classroom. While we would like to see all of our students meet the achievement standards, in our recent state SBAC test results our school performs well above the Santa Rosa district and CA state averages as well as Rincon Valley district averages, even in English skills, which is great to see given the addition of French for our s...tudents. Math Standard Met: SRFACS 59% vs. SRCS 32% vs. CA Overall 40% vs. RVSD 51% English Standard Met: SRFACS 69% vs. SRCS 44% vs. CA Overall 51% vs. RVSD 60% While other schools do outperform us, most don't have our cultural and economic diversity. At SRFACS we have over 33 different countries of origin represented, 10 different first languages spoken, and over 22% of our students qualify for the free and reduced lunch program. Thank you teachers and all of the school community that supports our students!
