If you're being technical about things, Spread doesn't actually fall within the geographical parameters of the @historiccore . Lucky for us, that's never gotten in the way, and we've been on the receiving end of so many awesome and helpful events and activities driven by the Historic Core BID. The support and assistance that Blair and her team have provided us throughout the years has been both helpful and needed. Running a small business in this part of #DTLA comes with plenty of additional challenges. Having passionate, focused and responsible leadership has helped us a lot. A few years before he opened the insanely great @commonwave_hifi (Hi-Fi and Cinema systems in the Arts District) @weskatzir was the guy running cables through the ceiling at Spread, and fidgeting with our sound system until it was perfect. He's hired us to cater big parties, held b-days at our restaurant, and sent countless customers our way. ... After we released the poster for our pop up market a number of people asked about the artwork. This was made by the super talented artist @marisa.de.la.pena She’s an incredibly talented local artist who lives in and illustrates out of her home in Glassell Park. I told Marisa we wanted a poster that conveyed a sense of fun and positivity in the face of so much doom and gloom the pandemic has causes. She really delivered for us, and she's continued to support us with several ot...her illustrations and menu designs. Marissa also made us re-usable masks which can be purchased on-line on our market (link in bio). 100 percent of the sales go to The Navajo & Hopi Families COVID-19 Relief Fund. Posting this Today, May 5th, as its National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW). There is a disturbing legacy of violence against Indigenous women and children. When I first met Jake & Marissa, they made it clear they were "down for the cause" and happy to lend a helping hand. They’re both talented producers of digital content. They meant what they said. I'm so appreciative of all they've done to help. I can't even begin to count the number of great people @kalecabdeliversbrah has introduced us to. If you live in the historic core section of DTLA, chances are you know this guy and understand why Spread's been so fortunate to have him as a friend and supporter. Ryan's helped us with special events, introductions, and more things I care to list on an ig post. Perhaps just as importantly, he's made the experience of having a restaurant here, WAY more fun. That's a talent not everyone has - and it's something we'll (okay I'll) always be very appreciative of.

@downtown_la BID’s Michael Filson has been an absolute champ for us. He's introduced us to great companies, helped us expand our reach & lent a helping hand whenever and wherever he could. Mike is a genuine, kind guy who loves to help local businesses grow. This guy cares SO MUCH. Anytime we've ever made a request, he's always done everything he can and FAST. Really happy to say a big public thanks to Mike. Someone please @ whoever Mike's boss is at the DTLA BID so they can give him a much deserved "attaboy"

Today we're highlighting our buddy @matt_withthehat - whose lent a helping hand more times than I can count. Whether it’s helping us run some of our awesome @miryslist #spreadthelove dinners, throwing big awesome parties like his own company re-launch/40th b-day, or introducing us to some wonderful people like @nikolaihwoodvendors who have hosted some very special evenings with us. ... Matt's been an important part of spread since we opened. He's helped us in ways big & small. The DTLA Community has really showed up for us over the past month and a half. This week we’re highlighting some of our most supportive and helpful community members. @staciechaiken & Marty Berg have been coming to Spread since we opened. Right around that same time, Stacie’s play opened at @thelatc It felt like they were throwing big large dinner parties every night. It helped a lot. They introduced us to countless great people including the always supportive @quete1314 In the years since, Stacie & Marty have spread the word about us many times over. We’re incredibly appreciative of their support and kindness
