Spirit of Life Bible Church October 25, 2020 Pastor Danny C. Knott Text: Philippians 1:26-28... Message: Living as Citizens of Heaven. I. Review: "Living Life to the Fullest" from Philippians 1:22-25. 1. SPIRITUALLY: Study the Word daily, Pray daily, Fellowship regularly, Witness consistently, Accountability partner. 2. PHYSICALLY: Exercise, Eat Healthy, Proper Rest. 3. MENTALLY: Healthy relations with Family & Friends, Social Activities, Vacations, Sightseeing, Reading (books/articles). We are preparing to be Citizens of Heaven. Our goal to live our lives for Christ should be the greatest goal for all CHRISTIANS. My question, IS IT? II. Philippians 1:25-26 (NLT) 25 Knowing this, I am convinced (persuade) that I will remain alive so I can continue to help all of you grow and experience the joy of your faith. 26 And when I come to you again, you will have even more reason to take pride in Christ Jesus because of what he is doing through me." III. Philippians 1:27 (our main verse): " Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing (firm) together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News." IV. Philippians 1:28, "Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself." King David said in Psalms 23:4-5, "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies." Joshua 1:9 says, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage (courageous); do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. V. In closing: Philippians 3:20 says, "But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior." II Peter 3:13 says it like this, But in keeping with his promise we are looking FORWARD to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. VI. Invitation: Are you ready to start living your life as if your Citizenship is in Heaven, and not here on earth?
