On this day in 1945, Associated Press photojournalist Joe Rosenthal snapped one of the most famous images of all time as six US Marines raised the US Flag atop Mount Suribachi. That photo is now immortalized by the US Marine Corps War memorial in Arlington, Virginia.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our Spartan Sports office dog Sadie, (fostered from the #CampFire)has crossed the rainbow Bridge. She brought such joy to our staff. She will be greatly missed. She passed just short of 16 years of age; her shining button eyes always brought cheer to our office.

Snow Day!!! Might make a snowman at lunch.

If you live in California, please check this out. Youth sports provide so many lessons for children and some look to youth sports as a way to ensure their way into college. Teaching youth that you need to work to win, and also how to work with a team. Or maybe youth sports is just and excuse to get out of their house or meet new friends.
