Today we'd like to recognize Associated Student Organization of Southwestern College. This incredible group of student leaders is consistently one of the Foundation's biggest partners in bringing resources and support to the college. We’re excited to announce that we’re part of The San Diego Foundation's latest round of Early Childhood Initiative grants. Thanks to $200,000 in support, the San Diego and Imperial Women's Business Center will support professional training, curriculum development, materials, supplies, and counseling to improve instructional practices and support early childhood staff.

COVID-19 has had an enormous affect on so many SWC students. This year's birthday donors are bridging the gaps by helping students keep the lights on, food in the cupboard, and hope alive. One week left in our Birthday Celebration of Giving, and we are SO CLOSE to our goal of $10,000 which will be matched by our amazing friends at Escaya! Thank you to to everyone who has contributed thus far...this is the kind of difference you are making: Dear SWC Foundation and Donors,... I’m incredibly grateful for the kindness of the foundation and to the people who donate that make it possible. Thanks to the grant that I was awarded, I was able to alleviate some of the stress burdening me from losing hours at my job, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and new regulations. I was able to pay one month worth of bills, and had some money left for groceries. Being the oldest of five siblings, needing to care for them, work a part-time job, and pay my part of bills can be arduous and exhausting. It strains my motivation for school at times. The fact that these grants exist because of people’s genuine desire to help others, gives me hope. Thanks to the foundation, I’m able to continue my studies with less stress on my mind.
