Sacramento City Council passed a resolution on March 13 declaring a state of emergency in response to the COVID-19 epidemic. As part of the resolution, all structured programs and events offered by Youth, Parks, & Community Enrichment at community centers, sports fields and facilities are postponed through Sunday, April 12. However, to minimize disruption to the community, City facilities will remain open to visitors while following safe social distancing practices.... The City has increased the cleaning and disinfection of all City facilities. That includes increasing disinfection of often-touched areas and materials, including door handles and elevator buttons. We are also boosting the availability of hygiene supplies at all our facilities including customer-service counters, security kiosks and primary entry-and-exit ways. Staff will be on site to educate visitors of safe distancing and cleanliness practices including hand washing protocol and avoiding physical contact. Large gatherings that include 250 people or more are postponed: Per City Council guidelines, all large gatherings that include 250 or more are postponed, including, but not limited to, the following: Youth Sports Basketball & Playoffs March 14, 21, 28 Community Center Expansion Events Citywide Youth Job & Resource Fair March 21 Oak Park Golden 1 Center Basketball Field Trip for youth March 26 Permits for private rentals and special events will be canceled or amended. Refunds will be granted for cancellations due to compliance with the Council's resolution. Please contact specific venues with any cancellation requests. All structured programming at City facilities is postponed, including: Youth and Teens: - after-school and childcare programssports and fitness programs, classes and leagues - Hot Spots and Community Access programs - Leisure Enrichment programs and classes - Lifeguard training classes - Youth Workforce Development programs Adults and Older Adults/Seniors: - Sports and fitness programs and classes - Adult and Senior softball leagues - Social groups/gatherings at community centers and senior center - Leisure Enrichment classes - Access Leisure programs and events - Trips and Tours
