EXCITING NEWS! San Roque Pet Hospital WELCOMES Dr. Tarashansky! Dr. Tarashansky (a.k.a. - "Dr. T") comes to us from U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. He has interests in internal medicine and surgery. Most of all he loves high quality, family veterinary medicine as he gets to foster and maintain long-term relationships with pets and their people.... Dr. T graduated from UCSB with a B.S. in Aquatic Biology. He is also an accomplished jazz musician and regularly performs on the Alto Saxophone and loves the piano as well. Don't be surprised if you see him playing at different places downtown Santa Barbara or even performing for fun on the street with friends. Dr. T was raised nearby in Agoura Hills where his parents still live. An interesting fact about him is he has an identical twin brother who is now receiving his PhD in bioengineering at Stanford. Dr. Tarashansky also loves reading, watching shows, and spending time hiking and biking with his great McNab Collie dog, "Koda". He can't wait to meet you and spend time with you and your pet(s) as well! Please help us in welcoming Dr. Tarashansky to our SBVG family!

With spring and summer quickly approaching, foxtail season is also upon us. For our pet parents, we are here to help! Here are a few tips in keeping your fur children safe during this season: * Get rid of any foxtails in your yard. * When on walks, keep track of your pets steps. Try to avoid overgrown areas. * After walks, examine their coats. Important areas to look after: feet, ears, eyes, nose, groin. ... * For longer coats, regular grooming appointments are important and at home brushing is important! * Know when to call us! Signs of possible foxtails are: excessive licking, head shaking, squinting of the eyes, sneezing or nasal discharge. Avoiding seeking medical attention can lead to severe infections. See more
