This #ouchigari is all about REACTION. #Judo instinct dictates that pulling in one direction will make your opponent react the other way. So #Protip - manipulate instinct! . #Uke Maximus Maxamillian Schneider

Sensei Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki is a master of judo matwork and sacrifice throws and has won both gold and silver in the World Games. Here he demonstrates some of ...his favorite techniques. I've always wondered why those who compete in sport jiu-jitsu and like to pull guard don't simply practice sacrifice throws (sutemi waza). It's a positive strategy that either puts you on the ground ahead on points or else lands you on your back where you want to be. Kosen judo specialists and those in standard judo with strong mat skills often do this. Much better than just sitting down passively. I rarely ever pull guard, even in training, unless it's just to freak out my training partners. But I do love sumi gaeshi and a few other sacrifice throws. Any of you guard players out there who use sacrifice throws often? If so what's your favorite? #oldschooljiujitsu #oldschoolbjj #sutemiwaza #newaza #katsuhikokashiwazaki
