Always able to push a little harder when you have someone pushing you back. Great Saturday @caseyparlett Repost from @md.strength Happy partner workout Saturday! Some of the most fun workouts I have ever done have been with a partner. There’s just something about having another person there with you that makes you push just a little bit harder. Thanks for the push, @socalstemcelldoc!

It’s not a miracle, it’s PRP! These MRI images show a large disc herniation. This patient received a special version of PRP (platelet lysate) close to the nerve and disc. You can see a very large disc herniation on the before image, and clearly you don’t see that in the post-procedure image on the right. If you are interested in an assessment to determine whether regenerative medicine is the right treatment for you, reach out to us at (760) 721-4000!

Damage to the Achilles tendon is the most common form of tendon damage. When the Achilles Tendon tears, the recommended course of treatment is a risky surgery with a > 10% complication rate. Because of the invasive nature of this procedure, recovery is lengthy, and a recent study suggests that it is no more effective than immobilizing and bracing the ankle for a few weeks. Regenerative medicine provides true hope to those who have Achilles tendon injuries, as PRP injections can boost real tissue healing and support a full recovery. TESTIMONIAL TUESDAY! Bill came to see me last summer, and after more than a year of dedication to his health he is still able to take the wear and tear of his job. I’m grateful when my patients take their rehabilitation so seriously! Here’s what he said: In 2019 as a UPS package driver I was given a choice quit working and find another job, or seek treatment that would work. My job requires me to lift up to 150 lbs packages , 70 lbs without help. In June of 2019 I had PRP inj...ections in my Lumbar spine. I went back to work in time for the last Christmas rush, since Covid 19 hit its been six months of 14 hour days. My job is far from easy, and there are no weekends in which some muscle, or joint does not hurt. So far, by following the after care physical therapy procedures that Dr. Derrington provided, I have avoided major pain. So far his PRP spinal treatments have worked on my degenerative condition. Tip, ask for your after care instructions a few days ahead of the procedures so you can have everything ready, and don't fly the day of your procedure. I flew in for a lumbar procedure, and when my flight was canceled, the pain hit hard. Rest after your procedure. Get a hotell to recover. Fly the second or third day to be ok. -- Bill Carman, Jul 18, 2020 See more

A couple days of relaxation before heading back home... Repost from @vic514 I could live at this hotel. Behind that waterfall structure in the middle is an infinity pool that looks out over a beautiful creek that you can hike along. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful hotels we’ve stayed at! Staff is also amazing! Highly recommend @amararesort if you’re ever in Sedona!

Powerful documentary that’s a must watch! Make time to see this. Repost from @cripcampfilm We're highlighting stellar art pieces created by artists in response to the film, its themes, and the impact campaign. Today's #FanFriday comes from @collagecandi, a visual artist specializing in analog collage art. In collagecandi's words, "I wanted this piece to be a message of compassion beyond anything else, and to serve the reminder that disabilities go beyond physical." . .... . [Image description: A collage of hand-cut images over a pale blue background, including Judy Heumann speaking into a microphone, two butterflies, a poster with text that reads "Civil Rights For Disabled, a blue and green watercolor circle with text that reads "Not All Disabilities Are Visible", and a blue outlined figure with a white outline of a brain within.] See more

Amazing findings coming out of Spain! PRP can delay knee replacement, which would be a huge cost savings for insurance and our overall healthcare spend! Repost from @dr.markle A retrospective study and survival analysis were done in Spain and researchers seek to evaluate the ability of PRP injections to delay the progression of Knee OA and, thereby, delay the use of total knee arthroplasty to treat advanced knee osteoarthritis. The study looked at the outcomes from two poin...ts-of-view: -The time of delay of Knee replacement after PRP injection -The percentage of patients foregoing surgery The study concluded that 74% of patients delayed joint replacement surgery up to 18 months, and nearly 86% of the patients in the survival analysis study did not undergo joint replacement surgery within the five-year follow-up period. The bottom line is that we can delay indicated knee replacement with PRP by 18 months for the once who needed now. and we can delay future surgeries by 5 years and more in a high percentage of people with less severe knee arthritis. That could translate into millions of health dollars saving every year. #kneepain #jointreplacement #jointreplacementsurgery #avoidjointreplacement #prp #stemcelltherapy

What does freedom mean to you? For those with impaired freedom of movement, the adventure of life can be reduced to a daily battle with their bodies. An injury to the ACL can cause substantial difficulty with basic mobility and function, and is common among athletes of all levels. Strains or sprains to the ACL may heal with rest, but for most ACL tears, the main treatment option is ACL surgery. This surgery greatly increases the progression of osteoarthritis, and performance and strength in the repaired knee may not fully recover. With our specialized treatments, we can heal the injured ligament and avoid the invasive surgery! To learn more, just visit our website at www.derringtonortho.com!
