Ron Souza running the City to Sea Race Circa 1998 - Ron never considered himself fast, but he completed races from the Mile to the 1/2 Marathon, and ALWAYS ran with GREAT determination and effort. Unfortunately, he passed away several years ago, but his Spirit lives on in all that knew him. See you at the Sunday Long Run.

1989/1990 in Roadrunner History - The Legendary Paul Spangler, in his late 80's when this photo was taken. Dr. Spangler held almost every National and World Distance Records from the Mile to the Marathon for age groups 60-90+ at one time. Hall of Famer, and GREAT man, Dr. Paul died of a heart attack while running at age 95, running up Johnson Avenue near French Hospital. A True Distance Man - He founded and designed the Laguna Lake Fitness Trails, which opened with a race in 1974 (Both Coach Thoma and Coach Warnes ran in that race as High Schoolers). He was the BEST!
