Is there a laser to remove pterygiums?. I have been asked this questions several times this week. Currently no, pterygiums are removed by carefully dissecting the pterygium away from the cornea and a conjunctival autograft is used to help prevent recurrence, along with Mitomycin C. In the past Beta Radiation was used, perhaps that’s confusion. A Femto laser has been tried but is not the standard of care at this time. #drmontoyajr#pterygiumsurgery
