Registration is now open for a 12-week adult hockey class. This is for players who are currently in the adult hockey class or who have taken it previously. Class will cover puck handling, passing, shooting and situational strategy. The Sunday class starts Dec 6 and the Thursday class starts Dec 10. We wanted to give you an update on what is happening at Skatetown Ice Arena. We continue to be under a state and county order to remain closed. Our plans and protocols for reopening are being updated as new information and guidelines are released. As we receive new information, updates will be posted on our website and social media. Skatetown will fully reopen once the state and county restrictions are lifted. Many of our full-time staff have returned to help us prepare to re...-open. The rink has been thoroughly cleaned since the closure order happened and we have completed several maintenance projects. Are both ice surfaces still frozen? Rink 1 was taken down for maintenance. We are in the process of rebuilding it now. Rink 2 is frozen. What about program schedules? We will completely revamp all program schedules once we know when we can reopen. However, we will try to keep as many existing programs in their same timeslots as before. What about cleaning/sanitizing once the rink is reopened? We understand that, even when the rink reopens, customers and staff will continue to have concerns about safety. We have updated our cleaning and safety protocols: o Sanitizing stations throughout the facility o Increased the frequency of cleaning and sanitizing lobby areas and bathrooms o Between-session cleanings of dasher boards, door handles, players benches, skate tying benches and other frequently touched surfaces o Sneeze guards by cash registers What can we do to help? The most important thing our customers can do to help us during this time is to come back once the restrictions are lifted and it is safe to reopen. Hey Everyone, I wanted to post a quick update on what we’ve been working on since we’ve been shutdown. We melted our rink 1 ice and have been working on fixing some heaving issues on the scoreboard end. We’re working on a plan to submit to the health department about how we can reopen hockey and other programs. Some rinks across the nation have been able to reopen with modifications and we hope we will be able to do the same.... We hope you are all doing well during this time!

Thank you to everyone who helped raise money for CHP Officer David Gordon as last Saturday's Heroes on Ice Charity Hockey Game. The CHP and Sacramento Firefighter Hockey teams played a great game! Officer Gordon and his family were able to attend and he was presented with a game jersey. VIP guest Clint Malarchuk (retired NHL goaltender) helped coach the CHP team on to an 8 to 7 victory. #skatetownice #ClintMalarchuk @ChpYuba
