I was recently asked to share one of our unique qualities that separates us from the rest; and after some thought, I came to this conclusion: At the many other sober living homes about which I hear, clients want to finish their stay as quickly as possible and move out. At our sober living home however, clients tend to do the opposite, they want to live with us as long as they possibly can... Of the 7 clients we currently have, one has lived with us for over 3 years, another... for about a year and a half, two of our clients are coming up on their 1 year anniversary living with us, one client is in the middle of his third month with us, one client is completing her second month, and our newest client has been with us for 2 weeks, with plans to stay for several months. Living with us for such long durations, our clients become like our family members in one way or another. The main requirement for admission is simple and obvious, to be clean and sober and to have the true desire to stay that way; and to remain with us on such long-term bases is to remain clean and sober. With that one constant, the other stuff seems to all work itself out. See more
