Congratulations to our December Members of the Month! From our committees and programs, congratulations to Jai Dhillon, Manit Dassani, Rashi Ranka, and Nancy Huynh. Since we have transitioned to a fully online learning experience, these members took initiative to take a further step forward and take part in the SJSU community. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to MA!

Our #PeopleintheMAking campaign is coming to a close... Do you remember those times? Seeing friends on campus, going on boba runs, watching football games, and having that human connection? It all just went on pause didn't it? 2020 has been an absolute rollercoaster. But, what if 2020 isn't cancelled? What if this is the year we needed to wake us up? Take what you've learned this year. Take the good, the bad, and especially the moments in between to become a better version ...of yourself. It doesn't matter how fast or slow it's going. Be thankful for the lessons because it has brought you to where you are now. Everyone's progress is different and all that matters is that you keep going. Go. Get out there and #MAnifestYourVision.

The I'DSPEAK event is happening tonight November 20th from 6-8 pm. Lastly, our final event of the semester will be the Around the World gala on December 2nd and we hope to see you there!

Tomorrow, November 19 we have our paint night social and on Friday, November 20 we have the I’DSPEAK event! Our final event of the semester will be our Around the World gala on December 2nd and we hope to see you there.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Cards for Hospitals event! We hope you had a great time sending virtual (and/or written!) cards to hospital caregivers and patients. It was also a time to network and get to know more of the members and we hope you had fun. Our next workshop is tomorrow with Professor Lo and she will be teaching you how to improve your writing for LinkedIn. You really don't want to miss this one! Being a mentor comes with responsibility. Here, we show the 3 C's of Mentorship which include Consulting, Counselor, and Cheerleader. As a mentor, it's important to balance these different hats, and knowing when to implement each one for the benefit of the mentees growth. It’s important to also have transparency and clear communication when working together.

We all have days where we feel unmotivated, stressed, and defeated but what matters the most is how how we bounce back. We hope you were able to gain insight and inspiration from our guest speakers Oscar Garcia and his daughter, Angelica Garcia.
