GANAMOS! WE WON! While votes will continue to be counted, this campaign's lead has grown to 8.72% as of last night. I was reluctant to make any announcment because of how analytical I am and wanted to make sure! THANK YOU EVERYONE who supported this GRASSROOTS campaign for the people and by the people of Vacaville. Vacaville residents in all districts sent a clear message that we need posititive change and I, as always, will continue to be committed towards empowering our nei...ghborhoods to unite for a better future. Representation matters. WE matter. NEVER before has a resident of Markham been elected to City Council until NOW and YOU ALL MADE IT HAPPEN! I grew up in Markham and have experienced many ups and downs both personally and in this City. I was fortunate enough to attend college and break the cycle of poverty to where several years ago I moved-back to give-back to the community that helped provide the American Dream for working families like mine. This experience DOES MATTER when our City Council members make decisions and supports the direction of our City through it's policies, know that I will do so with ALL of our residents' best interest in mind. Our greatest achievement can be achieved through innovation, entrepreneurialship and giving back to our community when and how we can. Our potential cannot be acheived unless everyone is included. I will provide a structure for that, but I can't do it alone. We need better paying jobs for our families. We need more affordable housing, and not just to rent but to own so we can build generational wealth. We deserve a better quality of life that allows us to celebrate each other and live for the moment. Currently, we are our biggest barrier if we continue this divide reflected in our nation and I am committed towards bridging those gaps for those who want it. We deserve a safe community to live in and good schools because a stronger education system makes a better a City and a better City should help support a better education system. PLEASE JOIN me later this evening so I can thank all those for supporting not just me, but this campain and lay out the vision and path forward. I didn't run just to get elected. I ran to continue my efforts to make systemic change and bring along as many with me as possible. I'm looking for interns to help these efforts so they can lead the change they seek and take it to another level. To all those who couldn't vote, for what ever reasons, and expressed to me in Spanish that just as I am my parent's American Dream, that their kids are THEIR American Dream, "SI SE PUEDE y SI SE PUDO!" See you tonight, 7-7:30 pm virtually. Bring your own drinks! ;)
We hope to see everyone there!

Happy Birthday Dad. I miss you and love you and know that I’m doing my best to honor the sacrifices and unconditional love you and mom always gave me and my sister. I know we were your American Dream. I’ll continue to do my best to let others live theirs, too. Today I voted not just because of you, but for all the people like you.
PLEASE SHARE! LET’S GO D3!
Your Vote isn't just your voice, it's OUR voice. You can still register and vote at the polls no later than 8 pm today, Nov 3! I appreciate the love.
POWER UP and VOTE! If you need a ride to vote, just reach out! You can still register to vote at a polling place today! ... CUT OFF IS 8 PM! Markham neighborhood doesn’t have anything conveniently accessible. The closest is Nut Tree Airport.
Do not let fear cloud your better judgement that we are stronger together. We are all Americans inspired by the pursuit of life, liberty and justice for all. We live in a country that has brought people throughout the world together to pursue their American Dream. Democracy as we are showing isn’t always pretty or civil. More and more we justify our bias and have become our own biggest threat. Somehow we let national politics sway how we love and respect one another in our ow...n community-between our own neighbors, our children, our friends and our family. Each of us has the duty, whether we can vote or not, to honor the sacrifices of those who came before us and to leave a better community for those who come after us. When groups of people are left out of the conversations - and considerations - it exacerbates division and mistrust. I commit to you all that I will do my best to address OUR real issues and help facilitate an inclusive environment to have those honest conversations and opportunities to come together in celebration of one another. It’s not going to be easy. But it’s up to us to determine how possible this will be. Each of us would benefit from looking within and be more understanding and empathetic to each other as we do the best we can and live our American Dream, not at the expense of others, but in collaboration with each other. Thank you for reading. More so, thank you for being kind and loving to one another. #UnitedForABetterFuture #SilvaVVD3
Feliz dia de los muertos! Today is a beautiful tradition in some cultures that honor their past loved ones. Today I remember my father, my Godmother, all of my grandparents, and several friends and family I am for the better because of each them. Tomorrow, Nov 3, I vote because of them.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VtFQY4I_io

If you haven’t ...registered to vote, you can do it at a polling place (City Hall or Nut Tree Airport) up until the end of Election Day, Nov 3 at 8 pm.
