Siksha Foundation 25.01.2021

For our first new project of the year, we are working with local governments to expand the current dilapidated campus at Isubilo Community School. We look forward to partnering with Chingola Member of Parliament Matthew Nkhuwa once again - he helped us complete our George Mwelwa Campus as well as the Kanini School!

We at Siksha have entered this new year with excitement and gratitude. Through the ups and downs of 2020, we were able to continue on our mission and make progress a possibility even in the least certain of times. And on top of that progress, you helped us raise $11,748 on Giving Tuesday! Thank you for helping bring out the light in the world amid the darkness - we look forward to expanding our mission with even more successes this year. Take a look at our January newsletter and be sure to sign up on our website to receive these to your inbox! #siksha #sikshafoundation #buildabetterfuture #future #educationforall #education #dogood #goodchange #giveback #begrateful #GivingTuesday #nonprofit #nonprofitorganization #hope #technology #learn #learning #love #smile #children #india #africa #zambia #donate #covid19

On behalf of the Manu and Siksha Foundations, it is our pleasure to join with you all in celebrating the official handover of the 1 x 2 classroom block. Due to COVID-19, we could not travel and be there in person to celebrate with you all. Very briefly, the chairmen of both foundations attended this school when it was a primary school. Hemant Desai and Virendra Patel both completed their primary education at this school 48 years ago. Their memories of the school had a big im...pact and thus the return. Manu Foundation and Siksha Foundation are both headquartered in USA as non-profit charities dedicated to changing the lives of children around the world. The generosity of our benefactors and our donors makes this project possible. The project started on August 19, 2020, with the initial phase to build 1 x 2 classroom block. Later, we saw a need to refurbish a classroom which was not in good shape. We took on the project, refurbished it and furnished the classroom with new desks and a new black board. We also realized that student safety was compromised as pupils walk to school, due to the increased traffic on the road. This led to the addition of a walkway path from the school to the main road, past the dolphin courts to reduce the congestion of pupils on the road which could lead to an accident. The walkway path is still under construction and will be completed soon. https://youtu.be/l4qdAlP-HQE
