We have exciting news! The Signal Hill Public Library is now offering Curbside Pickup service! Reserve your items online at www.cityofsignalhill.org/library or give us a call during Curbside hours. Once your reserved items are ready, you can make an appointment to safely pick them up outside the Library. Curbside pickup hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. Please review the program guidelines at www.cityofsignalhill.org/library before reserving your items. This program follows all State, County and CDC health guidelines. For further information, please call 562-989-7323.

Labor Day is Monday, September 7. In observance, City Hall, the City Yard, the Community Services Department, the Public Library, and all other non-essential City departments will be closed. EDCO will not be collecting residential trash on Labor Day. As a result, there will be a one-day delay in service all week. Street sweeping will not be performed.

Today is the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment - the Woman's Right to Vote! We raised the Women's Suffrage Victory flag at the Library and other City facilities in celebration. The flag will fly through September 18. The flag was created by Alice Paul, founder of the National Woman's Party, a pivotal force in the suffrage movement. In 1919, Paul began sewing stars on a purple, white and gold flag. Every time a state ratified the 19th Amendment, another star would be added. Tennessee became the 36th and deciding state to ratify the Amendment on August 18, 1920.
