High heat advisory! Santa Clara Valley temperatures are expected to reach the upper 90s to 100s this weekend. We recommend limiting outdoor activities and avoiding unnecessary sun exposure while temperatures remain high. Keep yourself safe to ensure emergency services are available for fires. Remember to stay hydrated! As the temperature rises, please keep in mind the risk of wildfires. Fires, fireworks, and smoking are prohibited on ALL Open Space Authority preserves. If you see smoke or signs of fire, don’t assume someone else already reported it. Call 911 immediately.

PRESERVE UPDATE: Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve will be fully open again starting this Saturday, September 5. All trails will be open. Please note that the entire preserve is still closing at 6:00 p.m. every day. Only the Aquila Loop Trail and Boccardo Loop Trail will be open, with the Calaveras Loop Trail remaining closed until further notice due to fire danger. Preserve Fire Safety Notice: As the Marsh Fire continues to move away from Sierra Vista, the preserve will remain OPEN. We are encouraging visitors not to hike out to Vista Point and instead stay on the Boccardo Loop and Aquila Loop trail systems. If taking the Sierra Vista Trail, please turn around at the bridge instead of continuing on to Vista Point.
