Dear Members, The Election Committee has completed and finalized the nominees for the new Board of Directors 2020 - 2021 term. Since less than 64 valid nominations were accepted there is no need for an election by the SIBL Membership. We will follow through with the duties of the Election Committee at the next Board meeting on October 1, 2020 - 7pm. After the directors for the upcoming year have been sworn in a list will be posted.... We will conduct the election of the officers and board positions. We have open seats and encourage all members to come and participate in the management of the league. History has shown that when more members participate the league prospers. Hello SIBL Families, Together we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The coronavirus pandemic is affecting all of our families, businesses, communities, and our way of life. I wanted to reach out and update you on what is happening here at SIBL. As many of you may be aware, Los Angeles County has recently opened up youth sports with restricted protocols. When this news came out, the Board of Directors began discussing the idea of having a Fall Ball season. Unfortunat...ely, with the guidelines that our State/Local government officials still have in place, as well as all the logistics that go into planning for a new season, it makes it very difficult for that to happen at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated. We are aware there are many teams locally and throughout the state that are currently playing baseball and softball and are struggling daily to find fields to play on. The Board of Directors is aware of that need and recently voted to open up SIBL for field rentals. We are currently finalizing the details but more importantly making sure SIBL and all those that maybe interested in utilizing our fields are in strict compliance with all State, County, and City guidelines to minimize the spread of COVID-19. If you have a child that is on a team seeking a place to practice, we encourage them to consider field rental at SIBL. We looked at this as an opportunity to recoup monetary loss that incurred throughout this pandemic, help our families and reinvest back into the league. With that being said, the Board of Directors has organized a Field Clean Up weekend on August 29th/30th from 7am-3pm (flier is below). We encourage you to join us to help clean and maintain SIBL.
