Today's #AutomotiveTechnology Spotlight is on #ADAS. What is ADAS and why is it important in regards to your repairs? ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and it is a network of sensors, cameras, modules, programing, and wiring that assist in driving and parking functions, including accident avoidance. These systems are located throughout the vehicle, strategically placed in order to assist in multiple driving situations such as adaptive cruise control, blind sp...ot notifications, accident avoidance, auto parking, object detection, self-driving functions, etc. As ADAS technology become more common in everyday vehicles, performing safe collision repairs requires knowledge of OEM guidelines pertaining to these systems in order to ensure the repairs do not put you, and your family, at risk after they are completed. "Simple" scratch repairs to bumpers are becoming less common as manufacturers prohibit repairs to be performed in the area of a blind spot module (BSM). Windshield replacements with front-facing cameras often require only new, OEM glass to be installed in order to ensure proper camera functionality as well as calibration of the camera, itself. Simply removing a front bumper + grille with a radar sensor mounted just behind often requires a testing and/or re-calibration of the entire system to confirm it is operational and accurate. These are a few examples of how it is imperative that your choice of shop is knowledgeable about and capable of handling all of these situations in order to ensure your vehicle's safety technology does its job when you get back out on the road. Talk to one of our estimating professionals today and they will be happy to advise if any ADAS features are present and will need to be addressed during YOUR specific repair plan. #collisionrepair #showtimecollision #autobodyrepair #autobodyshop #autorepair #oemcertified #caraccident #rimtraffic #inlandempire #familyownedandoperated #smallbusinesssupport #bluecollarprofessionals #automotiveindustry #collisioncenter

As we have entered the winter season and there are many mountain newbies experiencing their first snowy driving conditions, it is important to make sure you are prepared for driving in inclement weather. Here are 5 key tips to ensure you are prepared for driving in the snowy + wet winter conditions today, tomorrow, and every storm to come! 1. CHECK YOUR TIRES. *Hopefully you haven’t waited this long to do so but better late than never!* Having low or zero tread creates uns...afe driving conditions, increasing the chances of having an accident during wet, snowy, and icy driving conditions. Replacing your tires every year just before winter is ideal to ensure you have the most tread to help grip the roads. 2. CHECK YOUR LIGHTS. Have someone help you do a light check, confirming your headlights, fog lights, blinkers, taillights, etc. are all functional. Proper illumination is critical to staying safe when driving in low visibility conditions such as the dense fog + heavy snowfall blanket our highways 3. CARRY PROPER CHAINS OR CABLES. During inclement weather seasons, it is the law to ALWAYS carry chains in your vehicleWINTER STORM IN EFFECT OR NOT. Don't forget: R3 conditions require all vehicles, including 4WD/AWD, to chain up. You may have never needed to chain up in all the years you have lived here, but don't find yourself without them the one time you might need them. 4. PACK A SUPPLY BAG FOR YOUR VEHICLE. Always keep an extra set of warm clothes, a preparedness bag, and SNOW SHOVEL in your vehicle. Pack an extra bag with a snow jacket, gloves, boots, food, water, a medical kit, flares, and blankets etc. just in case you need to exit your vehicle during frigid conditions or become stranded with no immediate help. An extra snow shovel may be needed by you, or a fellow neighbor, stuck in the snow. 5. SHARE YOUR LOCATION. Share your GPS location from your phone with your loved ones. Most, if not all, major smartphone providers offer the ability to 'share' your location via GPS with family/friends. Make sure you have this feature turned 'ON' so that if you become stranded or have an accident that removes you from the road, your location can be identified quicker. IF you find yourself in a situation requiring a tow or collision repair services, don’t hesitate to give our office a call and we can help you through handling the process regardless if your accident just happened or the [snow] dust has settled. Share this with a friend to make sure they are prepared to drive during this winter season! #collisionrepair #showtimecollision #autobodyrepair #autobodyshop #autocollision #autoaccident #carrepairs #rimtraffic #winterdriving #snowfall #sanbernardinomountains #inlandempire #collision #oemcertified #autobody
