I think it's really weird that a place can go from being a work of inclusive art - to being a benign copy-cat // a place where it's just popular to co-op Black Lives Matter. That's what's in Naming Gallery and Tilde now....BUT DIFFERENT Tiny Tiny and Dream Farm -- I know it sounds like I'm bitter -- And there is a bitterness to the taste of them... but a few days ago I noticed those "tiny-tiny-stamps" that have black lives on them that Lea designed... And then I put that next to the pictures of actual black lives who occupied the spaces in much higher numbers than you'll find moving forward. "Oh back in the day when I was young..." // just a thought, since I was over here...

-The courtroom for Nia Wilson was lawyers, cops, and judges. Like old molds from polished mallard ducks you could run a finger over and catch dust - just cleaning around... I watched a thin woman slink around with her palm overturned like the tree. She needed answers... --felt like a decade away from answers to her questions... no-justice-no-peace , Nia Wilson (portrait), shirts were given to us (thank you Eduardo & Scholl Sophie). Nia's family liked the shirts -- Ni...a's nephew took a shirt -- and we got to meet Nia’s family. Two POC men were taken in on felony charges and one white man was arraigned. The latter looked into his girlfriend’s eyes as he walked back to her with a smirk so disassociated from all of us wearing red. He's never going to get through that new bracelet breathalyzer program: "SCRAM." * So surreal a day -- I was yelled at by a cop to leave a courtroom when I double checked to see if my phone was off. I told the officer I would gladly leave. That was downstairs after #NIAWILSON That was listening to some of Max's testimony #GhostshipTrials - NOTES // The defense promised that by 6.28.19 at 8:30am a phycologist's report would be available. It is my hope so that the judge might offer his sentence and Nia's family can have justice. artwork by @shespeakseasy

As a Gallerist for the past 5 years at @naming_gallery I’d lost touch with my creative self. The organizing and hanging and framing and contracts even the polarity of my most intimate relationship was off-center. What I didn’t realize was over the years observing and learning the technique of over 100 different artists I was only helping my own creative process.
