Heads up, in the event of a stay at home order, please make sure to get a doctor's or chiropractor's note to me recommending massage if you haven't already, to receive continued treatment. Thank you and stay safe!

Hi Everyone, I just received an update from the State yesterday that massage services can be performed indoors with modifications at any tier. This does not supersede any restrictions or closures of our respective counties, but for now that is our current status. I am open with limited availability due to the modifications for increased gapping of appointments and reduced traffic for ongoing covid safety. I will still be requesting doctor's and chiropractor's notes of reccomendation to insure the best chances of ongoing treatment for you during this still very active pandemic. Masks are required and I will do health assessments prior to each appointment.

Hi, I normally would not post this here, but my husband's art was stolen from an arthop event in march and we have had no luck locating it. We are still in search of my husband's missing artwork that went missing from the restaurant La Maison downtown after the arthop event in March. The owners allowed someone other than my husband to take his artwork and it has not been returned. Please share this post, and let us know if you have seen these paintings, I am making the post public. At this point we are considering these pieces to be stolen.

Just an update, our county is still classified as widespread regarding the coronavirus, and the only exception for practicing massage therapy services that has been very recently granted by the State for indoor treatment, is if you have a note from your doctor or chiropractor recommending massage.

Until further notice, personal care services in California counties on the covid watch list longer than 3 days, have been ordered to close. Massage Therapy is one of those personal services affected and Fresno County is one of the many counties mentioned. Unfortunately this means I will be closed until we are off the watch list long enough that the State and County health departments allow Massage Therapists to resume operations. Official notice emailed to massage therapis...ts in California today: "Personal Care Service Closures Governor Newsom announced on July 13, 2020, that counties that have remained on the County Monitoring List for three consecutive days must close indoor businesses, which includes those offering personal care services as of July 13, 2020, unless they can be modified to operate outside or by pick-up. It has been interpreted that working outside is working outside of your establishment, so if you are required to have an establishment license, you are most likely not allowed to work outside. We are working to clarify whether any personal care services can be performed outside and will let you know what we find out. In addition, there is no date or time period associated with the mandate. This applies to all businesses and professionals who are classified under the Personal Services Guidelines, which includes esthetician, skin care, and cosmetology services; electrology; nail salons; body art professionals, tattoo parlors, and piercing shops; and massage therapy (in non-healthcare settings). Per the County Variance Info Webpage, the following counties that have remained on the County Monitoring List for three consecutive days and are now required to pause all inside business operations include: Colusa, Contra Costa, Fresno, Glenn, Imperial, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Madera, Marin, Merced, Monterey, Orange, Placer, Riverside, Sacramento, San Benito, San Bernadino, San Diego, San Joaquin, Santa Barbara, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tulare, Yolo, Yuba, and Ventura Counties. Furthermore, as of July 13, 2020, the county attestation process has been paused and no further county attestations will be accepted at this time. We appreciate your membership and will continue working on your behalf to update you as we learn more. Please check our COVID-19 page for updates. Be safe and be well."

Ok!! Good news! The Fresno County Board of Health reassesed the new guidance set forth at the end of last week and has now approved Massage to be included in the June 26th reopening of Authorized businesses. See email Statement from the Health Dept below: "The state of California has released guidance for massage therapists, the guidelines are under the Personal Services category. Our Fresno County health officer has approved implementation of the guidelines but delayed the opening of personal services to June 26."

UPDATE!!!! AS OF TODAY, THE COUNTY HAS AUTHORIZED US FOR THE 26TH OF JUNE!!!! (UP TILL NOW, WE WERE NOT ON THE COUNTY'S LIST OF AUTHORIZED BUSINESSES)... Fresno County still has not added massage to the list of authorized businesses, and until they do, the State guidance alone, as deemed by the State - as part of it's guidance for massage, says that we are not allowed to open. I'm still waiting for a date of reopening based on the Governor's requirement of approval from the Fresno County Department of Health. Thank you again for your patience.

Despite various sources publishing incomplete information regarding massage therapy reopening dates this week or next, specific counties need to add massage to the approved lists before we can begin practicing. Per an answer to my query to the county on Friday, and one this morning, after the state elaborated with CAMTC regarding state SUGGESTED guidance for reopening, Fresno County HAS NOT added massage therapy to the list of approved businesses. So, we still do not have a projected date of reopening. Please continue to bear with me, I will post updates as I become aware of them.

Shelby Strategier, Therapeutic Massage 03.08.2020

I haven't been updating on my reopening status yet because we have not received approval from the state. CAMTC has sent a letter to the Governor's office on behalf of state licensed massage therapists and their clients requesting an update on our reopening status. My officemates and I have updated our office space and procedures to broader and more thorough safety standards than recommended by the CDC, and will be closely following guidelines more similar to those recommended by our licensing organization. Please bear with me in this process during the State's reopening. I appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing you soon.

There has been an update from the State of California just now, regarding the scheduled opening of Massage Therapists. It looks like unfortunately we still need to wait for a little while longer to get approval through the right channels before the Governor's office can approve us for operation. See the statement below: "CAMTC has been listening closely to the Governor and his Administration to seek their best guidance as to the safe opening of massage therapy. Our report ye...sterday was an accurate reflection of the information we received from the Administration. Today, however, we received an additional communication from the Director of the Department of Health Care Services: I apologize but my answer was premature, and any decision about broader availability of massage therapy is a decision that should come from the California Department of Public Health and local health departments. So please wait for direction from CDPH and local health departments. I am sorry for any confusion my answer has caused. Thank you. The up-to-date reality is that the State is not yet giving counties permission for massage therapists to generally provide services in California. Be Safe and Be Well, Jeff Forman, Ph.D. CAMTC Board Chair Ahmos Netanel CAMTC CEO"

UPDATE: WE HAVE JUST BEEN INFORMED THIS INFORMATION IS NOT COMPLETE. WE ARE NOT YET CLEAR TO OPEN. SEE UPDATED DETAILS IN COMMENT FIELD. (5/29 EVE) As of yesterday, May 28th, we received communication from the California Associated Massage Therapy Council that the office of the Governor was able to clarify officially that although Massage is not specifically listed in the new lifting of business operation restrictions, it is allowable for now, along with Salons and Barbers...hops. So, I am going to be available very soon for appointments. There are new safety measures I will be following to protect you, myself, my colleagues and their clients. Please insure that you have had no symptoms or been exposed to anyone with covid-19 in the past 14 days prior to your appointment. I will being wearing a mask for the duration of our appointment and ask that you bring and wear one as well. (If you are not comfortable wearing a mask in the office, that is your choice, but I will not be able to provide massages for you at this time.) To maintain social distancing, as both this and masks are necessary to keep exposure risk very low if someone is asymptomatic, I will need you to wait in your car until I text you to tell you I am coming to meet you at the door. Please do not bring anyone else with you to your appointment and arrive no earlier than 5-10 minutes prior. Text me to let me know you are here. I will check your temperature with a contactless thermometer at the door, if it is 100 farenheit or above I will need to reschedule you for a later date. I will ask you covid screening questions and will need you to sign an assessment form prior to each appointment. If there is any reason to believe you have been exposed or if you are expressing symptoms I will ask to reschedule our appointment. Please do not wear gloves. We will have hand sanitizing stations inside the office. Please utilize these as you enter and before you leave. I will only be taking 2 -3 appointments per day, to allow time between appointments for cleaning and sanitizing, so my availability may be more limited for a while. At this time, onsite massages are unsafe because I cannot control covid exposure like I can in the office, so for now, I won't be able to provide onsite corporate chair massage. I appreciate all of you for being so patient through all of this upheaval and change in this world that now includes covid-19. Thank you so much for your support and loyalty. I have really missed all of you so much and I'm looking forward to seeing you. There will definitely be a slightly new routine and changes in the office that we will be familiarizing ourselves with. You will learn more about it upon arrival, but it is for everyone's health and safety: for us, the local community, and the world at large. I will see you soon. If you have any questions feel free to DM or text me. 559 478-3304
