"The mountains do not discriminate. Over the past few weeks working on the mountain, I have interacted wth a vast spectrum of diverse climbers: black, white, Asian, Indian, Hispanic, European, gay, straight, old, young, men, women, and the list goes on. Regardless of who you are, where you come from, or your personal beliefs, the mountain will always provide equal challenge and reward to each climber.... Racism and hate have no place here. While climbing on the mountain, we are all on the same team, communicating and collaborating to help everyone stay safe and realize their dreams. Mountains will forever provide refuge and peace for those willing to accept its many challenges." -Guide Mikey Bell leading his team the the summit June 4, 2020

As lone as God, and white as a winter moon, Mount Shasta starts up sudden and solitary from the heart of the great black forests of Northern California. -Joaquin Miller’s words current today. We miss you dear friends and lovers of Mt. Shasta! We remain hopeful that we will get through this to emerge stronger, wiser, and more empathetic towards our fellow humans. Take care, we can’t wait to see you back on the mountain as soon as we are able!

To our valued current and future guests during the COVID-19 pandemic We at Shasta Mountain Guides want to let you know that we are adhering to the recommendations of the CDC and the State of California. Your safety as our clients remains our top priority. As such, we have made the difficult decision to suspend all guide services, classes, and tours through April. We are closely monitoring the situation and will post timely updates. We are hopeful that through responsible acti...ons the situation will improve, but we are prepared to suspend services until it is reasonable to resume. As always, we are available to answer your questions via phone and email, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Like many of you, we are feeling this on a deep, personal level and want nothing more than for us all to experience the power of Nature and Wilderness once again. We are here and while this is not business as usual, we remain forever hopeful Chris and Jenn Carr | Directors
