SHARE Mountain Bike Club has submitted an MTN DEW Outdoor Grant to support SHARE Mountain Bike Club’s bike bell outdoor initiative. This initiative significantly impacts both regional and local outdoor-focused participation by actively minimizing trail conflict pressures between hikers, trail runners, mountain bikers, and equestrians. Ultimately, this grant will benefits tens of thousands of people of all ages that use the wilderness trails in Orange County by making the trai...ls safer and enabling continued trail access by reducing trail user conflict. Orange County California is unique place for individuals passionate about the outdoors. Over 3 million people live in Orange County and are in close proximity to pristine islands of wilderness space networked with world class trails supporting the hiking, trail running, mountain bike, and equestrian communities. Even more significant, over 15 million people are within a one-hour drive to Orange County trails from the greater Los Angeles region. During the Covid-19 pandemic, people celebrating the outdoors by using trails has significantly increased. These increases have significantly increased trail conflict pressures. See more
