Our follower of the month and special V.I.P pass goes to Charis Johanna Gailard.... You have a free session at the bartending studio waiting for you to book.... In the meantime this one is for you... All of our respect and a million "Thank You's" from Soda Guns & Roses............ THE CRANBERRY BUBBLE MARTINI This is one of my favorites to make in the art of Mixology. Always remember that it is all about visuals, and taking a classic cocktail to a higher level. (what you wil...l need) 1 teaspoon of Dried Egg Whites 3/4 of a teaspoon of Xanthan Gum powder 14 oz of cranberry juice A fish tank oxygen pump with hose. (walmart 7.99) Immersion Blender In a clean big bowl pour the 14oz of cranberry juice along with the 1 teaspoon of dried egg white powder. ( with the immersion blender mix the two for 60 seconds) In the same bowl, add the 3/4 teaspoon of Xanthan Gum powder into the mix and blend again for another 60 seconds (note* it is very important you mix xanthan gum AFTER blending the egg whites with the juice) Now take your fish tank pump with hose attached and place the end of the hose into the mix and let it sit for about 2 minutes. You will see the pressure of the oxygen create bubbles. Take a spoon and gently scoop the bubbles and place on top of your favorite juice based martini. Serve Well.

The highball glass or Collins glass. The purpose of this design had a few meanings however one in particular most of us do not think about. The glass was designed so the straw came up out of the glass at a close distance to the garnish. For example if you garnish your cocktail with a lime, when taking a sip out of the straw you lean your face down towards it bringing yourself within close distance to the fruit allowing you to smell the lime as you are drinking, creating an all around experience.

When we speak of the night life and tequila, we all think or know of Patron tequila, but why? Is it really the best tequila? If not then why is it so popular? Patron is owned by the guy who created Paul Mitchell (hair products) and the formula of the patron tequila was originally created by 7 Leguas. I did a quick investigation and found out that the word "Patron" has been said at least once in 321 different hip-hop songs. So is Patron the best tequila or does the company ju...st have an absolutely brilliant marketing strategy? When working as a bartender you need to market a specific cocktail for yourself. A go to, famous, perfected recipe you have created and then blast it in the minds of your customers. I remember I took a french martini once and re arranged a few things and gave it a strong name. You would be surprised on how many customers came back to me just for that drink!! See more

Today our lesson is how to serve a cocktail with a frothy touch to it. Have you ever been to a bar and ordered a pisco sour or an old school gin fizz and after consuming it, you just can not figure out why you can not make that simple recipe at home just as good as that bartender did no matter what you do. Here is the secret.... Egg whites! First of all before you hop, skip, and jump to any conclusions, you must know that in regards to odds you are more likely to have an a...ccidental drowning than getting sick from egg whites. A half ounce of raw beaten egg whites is the trick in so many ways not to mention it enhances the flavor of the spirit and brings a beautiful tasteless texture to the cocktail. Here is my favorite brunch cocktail to make. Don't be afraid and trust me you will never have a sour drink again without a little egg white in it... 2 ounces of Makers Mark Bourbon 1 ounce of fresh squeezed lemon juice 1/2 ounce of simple syrup (half water half sugar boiled, or purchased pre made from market) 1/2 ounce egg white beaten 1 teaspoon of apricot reserves Ice ( Combine all ingredients over ice and shake for 3 minutes. Serve in a chilled martini glass) Enjoy.

What, you thought Vodka was just for drinking? Next time you run into a situation where vodka is needed besides drinking away all of your sorrows or partying until the sun comes up, think twice about that warm bottle sitting on your kitchen counter collecting dust. Here is my top 5 list for the "OTHER" uses of vodka... enjoy. 1. Removing a band-aid. You dont have to hold your breath and anticipate that fast rip off your skin. Pour a little goose on it and watch it slide righ...t off. 2. Vodka shampoo. Not happy with your hair these days? Add a shot of vodka to a 12 ounce shampoo bottle. The vodka cleanses the scalp and removes toxins from your hair as well as stimulating growth. 3. Kill foot odor - All you athletes know what it is like to sweat after running and what it does to your socks and feet. Kill the odors by soaking your feet in vodka. The vodka kills bacteria as well as the smell. 4. Tooth ache - Swish around some vodka over a troubled tooth. Let the vodka absorb in your gums and it will numb the tooth and kill the pain. 5. Jelly Fish stings - If ever bit by a jellyfish, pour some good ol absolute vodka over the sting and it will not only disinfect but also alleviate the sting. See more

The gin and tonic was invented in 1870 as a cure for malaria when the British were in Asia. Quinine (the cure for malaria) is an ingredient in tonic water but wasn't tasting to good so the British mixed Gin with it to make it easier to drink and go down. And that became the birth of the gin and tonic, a popular mixed drink served today at your local Hollywood nightclub.

A classic Mint Julep is not a mojito with bourbon. Ive seen this drink get killed over the years. Put some pride into the classics. Whatever we manifest from all these different options we have through mixology, always give respect to the old days of class and perfection. (my version) Mint Julep.. 15 Mint Leaves 1tsp 2:1 Simple Syrup... 2 oz of Bourbon Muddle the mint leaves and the simple syrup in a rocks glass (old fashioned) Add the bourbon. Fill the cup up with ice (crushed is great if you have it). Garnish with Mint stem and leaf.

Every bartender at some point, will be "in the weeds" ( aka slammed, 3 rows deep, and extremely overwhelmed) while flipping bottles making cocktail after cocktail, mixed drink after mixed drink and poppin beer bottles after beer bottles. But one must make sure they are well rounded in the knowledge of wine. Nothing is more embarrassing and un professional when a customer asks if you have a Chanin Blanc or a Pinot Gris and you reply " Is that a white one or red one"? But not t...o worry, I teach the basics of wine knowledge and all necessary info being part of the carriculum that will prepare you for the nightlife and any situation you come across. Here are a few random facts in respect for the wine drinker.. enjoy. - Only 257 people in the world have earned the title " Master of Wine". - Wine contains more chemical compounds than blood. - Buena Vista, is California's oldest winery built in 1855 - More than 80% of the ability to taste comes from the smell - Four clusters of grapes produce 1 bottle of wine - To speed up the chilling process of cold wine put two Tspoons of Kosher salt in the ice bucket. - The average glass of red wine has about 110 calories as opposed to white wine containing 104 calories.
