SFGFFL 2020 Fall Season - UPDATE Dear SFGFFL Members, With shelter in place still active due to Covid-19 the league regrets to inform you that we won’t be having a Fall 2020 Season. Our hope is to resume football as soon as the City of San Francisco deems the environment safe. In the meantime the board will be working with other leagues throughout the country to modify our rules and develop policies that will keep league members safe when we return to the field.... As we value the safety of those in our community, the SFGFFL board encourages everyone to remain safe. Please wear your masks, practice social distancing and adhere to other San Francisco safety guidelines. On behalf of the San Francisco Gay Flag Football League Board, we want to express our outrage and heartbreak over the events that have gripped the country over the last several weeks. The tragic death of George Floyd follows the murders of Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery, as well as the weaponization of race against Chris Cooper. These are just a few names on a long list proving that brutality and racism continue to infect our world. We celebrate and support those in our co...mmunity that are taking a stand and demand change within the government and the police system. Black Lives Matter, and it will take all of us to make a difference and force a change. To our black SFGFFL players, the board wants you to know that we are proud to have you play with us, we hear you, we see you and we stand beside you. #blacklivesmatter Over the next few months as all we continue to struggle with a chaotic and sometimes unjust world, take care of each other and continue to support each other. For those of you that may need help navigating through this difficult time, the SFGFFL board is here to help you, please reach out. Remember to stay healthy and safe, we look forward to throwing around the football in the near future, sharing stories and reflecting on how we made a difference during these trying times.
