Agree? Disagree? We may have taken an oath that very few do, but many of our brothers and sisters in arms dishonor their service. https://www.salon.com//americas-military-reckoning-its-t/

During our October 2020 General Meeting, the Veterans Democratic Club of San Diego County overwhelmingly voted to rescind D9 candidate Kelvin Barrios' Qualified Rating. Honor, courage, and commitment are among the highest values held by veterans. Barrios’ gross misuse of funds, dishonest statements, and equivocation over his campaign's suspension demonstrate a concerning lack of respect for these values that is antithetical to our club's ongoing mission. In a time where our ...nation faces an unprecedented crisis, we cannot condone wanton excuses and financial irresponsibility, nor reward it with the privilege of public service. Qualified or Endorsed ratings from our club are not given lightly, and we remain committed to bestowing that honor exclusively on those candidates who meet the highest standards of personal and professional conduct. This bill, AB2994 (https://trackbill.com//california-assembly-bill-/1903868/), was introduced by Todd Gloria in February and is currently with the Assembly Committee on Veterans Affairs. The bill would direct policy and provide resources to veterans seeking to have their other than honorable discharges upgraded, especially those discharged under the DADT policy. You can make your position known through the committee web site or one of the local committee members (Todd Gloria, Tasha Boerner-Horvath, and Randy Voepel) and urge them to finish with it and forward it for a vote. Our brothers and sisters who have been denied full recognition for and benefit of their service deserve no less.
