A happy adoption is probably an understatement ;) he’s our doggy soulmate for sure!... This week marked 5 months with our amazing pup, and to say we’re obsessed with him would be a serious understatement! We truly hit the jackpot with this angel, and we just can’t believe that we got so lucky with such an amazing soul. He is absolutely the perfect fit for our family, and we make sure he feels the love every second. He is still my shadow and it’s been so fun watching his funny quirks and personality unfold. We really can’t believe a 6-year-old intact freeway dog could have turned out to be so gentle, loving, and friendly, and there’s really nothing we could ever want to change about him. Thank you again for all that you and your team does for the countless animals who have come through your doors, and for bringing this giant goofball into our hearts he is hairy, slobbery, snuggly perfection!! P.S. we did a DNA test on him, and found out he is quite the mix! 25% cane corso, 25% German Shepherd, and the other half is a mix of Rottweiler, Neapolitan mastiff, and chow.

On October 8th, the San Diego County Department of Animal Services along with other local animal care agencies helped many dogs from Louisiana to find new homes here in San Diego. These dogs were evacuated for safety before Hurricane Delta made landfall. DAS received 9 of the over 100 dogs in flight. These dogs, #DAShurricaneDeltaDogs, now available for adoption. Today is #NationalCatDay and we are putting the spotlight on Tricycle! This social and affectionate young lady came to us as a found stray with a severe injury to one of her rear legs. Unfortunately the leg had to be amputated. She has since healed and gets around great! Tricycle is currently housed at our Bonita location in one of our community rooms with another cat, Joshua, who is also waiting for his purrfect home. Oreo is a handsome 8 years young charmer who knows he’s as sweet as an Oreo cookie! He walks nicely and loves his plush squeaky toys. He gets anxious around other dogs so he might prefer to spend his quality time with humans. Oreo is taking a daily thyroid pill which is not expensive, it’s the same that many people take!
