SDCKT member Parker Amano designed and lead a team in building a table and benches for the SDCKT boathouse as part of earning his Eagle Scout rank! A scout since 2nd grade, Parker chose SDCKT because the team has been a big part of my life for the past 5 years, giving me so much; racing team camaraderie, water safety skills, national level competitions, and character building. Covid 19 briefly sidelined the build, but Parker got creative with safety measures, staggered volunteers over 3 days and completed the task. Thank you Parker Ryan Amano

Youth Racing (U10/U12/U14) summer program is designed to accommodate the technical and physical progress of developing Canoe/Kayak athletes. Athletes are introduced to a variety of training activities that include running, strength and conditioning, flexibility training, swimming and paddling different boats including Olympic sprint canoes, kayaks, surf skis and stand up paddle boards!

Day 1 - 5K complete! The San Diego Canoe and Kayak Team is holding a Virtual National Championships this week, August 10th-14th. We are encouraging everyone to do Olympic Sprint Canoe and Kayak time trials in the following distances, Monday 5k, Tuesday 2k, Weds 1k, Thursday 500m and Friday 200m. If you dont like your first time on any given day, rest 15 minutes and do it all over again, rules are kinda out the window in this crazy year! Be honest and send in your time trial a...nd we can post them for fun. The 5k and the 2k should be done on a 1k course. Again this is all for fun and we hope everyone is doing well, staying safe and training hard.
