SDCAA is proud to announce that we are working with the First Baptist Church of National City to create a mural that reflects the community. Before we can get started, it's important to conduct a Listening Session, which will be held on Nov. 10. This will be a time for all community residents to discuss the project and have their voices heard as the Artist, Cody Griffith, listens. He will then draft the design of the mural that encapsulates what the community discussed during the session.

Very proud to see local artists, one of them being SDCAA Crew member, Cody Griffith @Vincentghoste, coming together to lend a helping hand and create powerful murals regarding issues that are happening right now. It is important now more than ever to continue listening, learning, unlearning, and planning, to discover new ways that you can actively take part in fighting against injustices. Watching communities in all parts of the world take a stand and show up for the Black Lives Movement reveals that there is more love in this world than we know. @ La Mesa, California

Happy Tuesday! We’ve added a mural page to our website to feature the murals our wonderful crew and students have created or been a part of. We create murals because this art form improves the civic and cultural landscape along with inspiring lasting change. We not only create a safer, cleaner, and more aesthetically pleasing environment but also incorporate the concepts of restorative justice through art instruction, mural making, and community service work.... (1/2)We’re happy to share that the Crawford High School Student Mural painted in 2014 is in good standing! Prior to this mural, this wall would constantly be vandalized, repainted, and vandalized again. Since the creation of the mural, this wall has been respected and untouched-apart from Mother Nature.
