Pest Control by Tom Steward The Lioness by L.S. de Anda Budster by Steven Oberman The plays will be read at one of the organization’s upcoming readings, which currently take place on Zoom (online) at bi-weekly Friday evenings, beginning in September. So long as Covid-19 restrictions remain in place, we will continue to meet online. Zoom links will be sent out via email to our entire subscriber list prior to each reading. Founded in May 1948, The Scripteasers is the longest continually operating organization in the nation dedicated to helping playwrights develop and refine their craft. Over the past 72 years, the group has read and critiqued more than 1,200 scripts. Some have gone on to be prizewinners in competitions around the world, included in anthologies and various play collections, and performed by small theaters as well as in schools and community groups nationwide. Scripteaser writers have gone on to work in theater, film and television. Writers, actors and audience members are welcome at the organization’s open readings, which, until further notice, take place on 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month at 7:30 p.m. on Zoom.
