Happy New Year Scrap Diva! It is a brand new year and with that comes some changes for us. It saddens me to tell you this. We have decided to close Scrap Diva Retreats. It has been a phenomenal six years and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart; for your business and for your friendship. I know you look forward to retreating with me and that you have made a second home here. I have enjoyed every moment with you, scrapbooking and teaching mixed media classes. I'm ...always happy to see your smiling face and happy to share our home and life with you. Scrapbooking and crafting is not just about preserving our memories and creating a piece of art but it's about sharing our reflections about life with others. This is why I created Scrap Diva Retreats, so that we could have a community to share our scrapbook and craft passions with one another. This business was so much more to me than simply a way to make money. It was about sharing my passion for crafting and building a community. It was about inspiring you to make art that makes you happy and brings joy. I hope in some small way; I’ve made a positive impact on your life. I hope I've inspired you to dream big, reach for your goals and scrapbook your memories. You have made a HUGE impact on me and I will always CHERISH the moments we have shared together. After a lot of soul searching, I came to realize that my heart was no longer in the business. Last year, I read an amazing book about essentialism and how simplifying my life could make me happier. I need to free up my time to pursue other interests. "You can't reach for anything new if your hands are still full." This quote pretty much sums it up. There are so many things I want to do and my hands are too full to continue with the business. On a personal note, I'm in the process of writing my childhood memoir. It will likely take me a couple years to finish it. Hopefully you will see an announcement by 2020. The book will be called the "Crystal Ship" by Kelly Hudson. As I get further along, I might create a blog or a website. I hope you always carry a piece of the happiness and joy you found here. You have touched my heart deeply and I will always cherish the guest book you signed. I hope we remain friends and you don't forget me. I still want to be a part of our crafty communities. Please make me a personal friend on Facebook and keep in touch. Thank you for everything!
