How to Report Illegal Fireworks For reports of illegal use of fireworks, use the below non-emergency firework reporting hotlines. When calling in reports, if possible, please try to get an accurate location of the firework use, along with a description of the people setting them off. Please help us keep 9-1-1 lines open for emergencies this Fourth of July by only calling 9-1-1 to report illegal fireworks if they have sparked a fire or caused injury. ... Firework Reporting Hotlines: Scotts Valley Police Department - (831) 440-5670 Santa Cruz County Sheriff - (831) 471-1121
KNOX BOX A Knox Box is a great tool to help us gain access to your home in the event of an emergency. The Knox Box allows for storage of a key, and in the case of some models - multiple keys, that only Scotts Valley Fire Protection District is able to access. In the event of an emergency we will try to find a non-damaging way to enter your home, however, when every second counts we will do what is necessary to establish a point of entry. By having a Knox Box you are saving ti...me and potential forced entry property damage. For more information, please see our website: https://www.scottsvalleyfire.com/fire/residential-knox-box/

NO FIREWORKS Please remember as the 4th of July approaches, that fireworks are illegal in our District. Last year marked the worst fire season in California state history. These fires hit close to home and devastated parts of our neighboring communities. Fire season is here, please help us protect you by not using illegal fireworks. There are many ways to celebrate Independence Day, protecting the safety of your community should be one of them. Although there is no firework ...show this year - please do not attempt your own. Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep you safe.
ANNUAL HOSE SERVICE An important part of keeping our community safe is servicing our equipment to ensure it is in working order in the event of an emergency. Our annual hose service includes both our attack and supply hoses, testing with a range of 200-300 PSI. If any hose leaks, or does not pass the pressure service test, it is retired. This prevents equipment failure on an incident.

Don't forget to water the tree! A live Christmas tree burn conducted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) shows how quickly a dried out Christmas tree fire burns, with flashover occurring in less than one minute, as compared to a well-watered tree, which burns at a much slower rate. Take a few minutes to make sure your tree is well-watered this holiday season. Thank you for helping us keep you safe.
