2020 has been a truly challenging year for us all. Our year started with exciting potential, full of awesome events and new possibilities for our business. Unfortunately, as was the case for many, this year forced us to change those plans and pivot our goals and expectations.... In July, we finished construction on our new production facility, which has given us the opportunity to move in new directions and focus on the future. As we edge out of summer and get close to Halloween we are releasing 4 EPIC new flavors of ice cream. This week we get refreshed with a tart cherry sorbet, hold up our glasses for Oktoberfest, indulge in pumpkin cheesecake, and get sweet with our next cheat code candy ice cream. Superstein- We teamed up with our awesome friends at LA Aleworks in Hawthorne to create this magic malty flavor. We took a malted vanilla base and topped it off with malted milk balls, and chocolate... covered salted pretzels. Then we infused the ice cream with their Superstein Oktoberfest Bier. This beer has notes of biscuit, malt, and citrus, which made it the perfect pairing to this raucous flavor. Hold up your steins, grab a pretzel and give a shout to this EPIC flavor. Prost! Cherry Harvest- In Washington and Oregon Cherry season runs through early Summer right up until later September. For this refreshing and beautiful sorbet we took freshly grown Montmorency cherries and churned them into this spectacular flavor. Montmorency cherries are known for being tart and are often used for making cherry pie. This sorbet is the perfect combination between sweet and sour, which makes it the perfect way to say goodbye to summer and welcome in fall. Philly’s Jack-O-Lantern- Pumpkin pie is good and all but pumpkin cheesecake really takes things to the next level. We went classic this week with our plant based pumpkin ice cream that is very reminiscent of a certain latte....then we dove into luscious sweet and savory territory with our brie cheese and apple ice cream. Fall-In for Apples When fall arrives in late September we look forward to apple cider, apple pickin’ and one of our favorite appetizers - apples with brie cheese. This sweet and savory combination is a ridiculously tasty pleasure. For this ice cream we combined French Brie, with fresh apples, infused it with a dry hopped cider from Other Half brewing in NY and finished it off with chunks of puff pastry and praline pecans.
