2020 has thrown us a lot of curveballs, that is for sure. With so much political turmoil and social media wars going on, most of us were hoping the holiday season would save humanity. Well, at least those of us in the themed entertainment business anyway. With the bloggers holding nothing back, some of the "alternative haunt offerings" have been getting bashed already like a good ole fashioned pumpkin smash. And the first weekend hasn't even come to a close! :( Thankfully, t...he granddaddy of them all, Knott's Berry Farm, has come to the rescue! Normally, Knott's Scary Farm kicks off the haunt season for us mid September. But with California in the proverbial Covid rabbit hole, many of us haunters and enthusiasts alike were left wondering what could be salvaged of the 2020 season. Well, we can personally promise you Knott's DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! From the free parking to the $35 entry fee with food and beverage tasting card (many of the selections are full sized offerings, and you can redeem for up to 5!), the event was off and running. For a major theme park player, this was a bargain. Once inside, the hauntingly beautiful overlay begins immediately. Every square inch of the park was festively decorated. From the fall leaves, to the illuminated grinning pumpkins, there was plenty of eye candy for everyone to enjoy. The Camp Snoopy Trick-or-Treat Trail (man, that sounds familiar lol) is not to be missed! Especially once it gets dark. You do not have to buy the treat bag to enjoy the stoll through this Haunt overload, but you can collect the candy for $8. (It was originally limited to just children, but they listened after just one day and opened it up to everyone.) Characters greet you from the balconies as well! And for all you Scary Farm nuts, there were many Easter eggs throughout the park. Today is the day we honor the brave women and men who died to protect our country.
