I cannot get enough of Katana! She is just the sweetest little girl. When she’s not cuddling with my husband or I, she plays with her wonky legs. She is such a tiny little girl. She isn’t bothered by the dogs one bit! She has taken a big liking to new arrival Harvey and he is very gentle with her. Tramp.... Tramp’s hip surgery is scheduled for Feb 16! I am super excited to see this guy have use of all four of his legs. Tramp has a very cute, but persistent personality. He feels he just MUST sit with on the lap of anyone who is sitting down, even if we are already holding another baby. In this picture, I’m holding Harvey, and Tramp is sitting on the armrest of the couch. Read Tramp’s story here: https://www.facebook.com/648671381910164/posts/3413875022056439/... Kringle had a good first night at home. He pooped on the bed twice and peed once. I put him down three times to do his business, but there’s nothing like the comfort of a warm bed. Kringle absolutely must lay on me or my husband. I know he has received so much love in the hospitals and he’s certainly not going to let us slack off. He snores so cute and wakes up to give kisses. This morning he woke my husband up by chewing on his beard. Kringle and Harvey seem to be bonding w...ell. Harvey had only been here a day before Kringle arrived and unfortunately, but not surprisingly, the Diaper Gang is being their stuck up selves to him. Harvey was clearly feeling a bit left out, so when Kringle came, Harvey perked up. Both are in my room, as Kringle’s little immune system needs a lot of work, so he’s not allowed with the pack yet. I have gotten quite a few messages about Kringle’s cone and sweater. First off, pictures make that silly come look HUGE and I promise it’s not. Secondly, I ONLY use plastic cones as I strictly follow what my doctors tell me to use. As far as his knit sweater goes, I would NEVER put anything knitted on a burn. What you can’t see is that under that sweater (that was made specifically for him by one of his nurses), Kringle has bandages and then wrap covering his little body. In that case, no matter what material I put on him, none of it is going to touch his burns. Thank you again to everyone for all of their help and concern over Kringle. I promise we are following the doctors orders 100%. Read Kringle’s story here: https://www.facebook.com/648671381910164//3332609026849706/ #savinghueyfoundation #finishingwhatwestarted

My time with Pogo is coming to a rapid close. I’m still not sure how I will live without him, but that’s beside the point. Pogo came to us after he was picked up by Animal Control and taken to our emergency vet due to a tumor on his leg. It turned out that the tumor was a mast cell tumor. We had the leg amputated and hoped that the cancer had not spread. Unfortunately, it had spread and has now taken over his sweet little body. Pogo is on a slew of medications as well as he...rbal supplements. Most days he has no interest in food, although his appetite stimulant (and hot dogs), help some. Pogo is in good spirits, but he’s tired. He gets to sleep with me every night and cuddles into my neck. He’s a good boy, I love him with all of my heart, and my only regret is that no time together would ever be enough. I will keep Pogo going as long as he’s willing to eat, and is comfortable. With the new cells popping up literally overnight, I know a decision will need to be made soon. For now, I will treasure every moment we have together. She thought she could, so she did.... Amethyst, my warrior girl, goes to her new home tomorrow. We will miss her sweet and playful spirit, and the much needed inspiration she brought us through very difficult times, however this girl is ready for and deserves her happily ever after. Amethyst’s new momma is one of our vet techs and lives locally, which means I will get to visit! ... Best wishes my sweet girl. Thanks for stopping by the Ranch. Harry...from torture to paradise. This poor pup lived a nightmare of a life before he was rescued. He was filmed being dragged behind a vehicle which left him a raw bloody mess. He was hospitalized for what felt like an eternity, while his wounds were dressed and redressed. The pads on his feet were completely gone as was much of the flesh around his legs. Before Harry even got to me, I had already decided on his new momma. She had been following Harry’s story from the begin...ning, checking in for updates quite often. She, along with a friend from out of state, both wanted this little teddy bear, however I decided it was in his best interest to keep him local. Harry has made a miracle recovery. From a shaggy, matted, unkept and dirty dog, he now lives life known as Prince Harry. His momma is wonderful about keeping me updated on his progress and antics. If you are on Instagram, feel free to follow Prince Harry at https://instagram.com/prince__harry09?igshid=o270yptybmki. Harry is just one example of the good your donations help us do. Lucas Update... You may remember Lucas, the smart little puppy who approached the vets at a spay/neuter clinic and literally begged for help. I was asked to help Lucas and had him taken to the vet immediately. Unfortunately, Lucas’ injury was quite old and there was no saving his leg due to the infection that had set in. He underwent an amputation, and once he made a full recovery, he was sent here to the States, where he was adopted by a dear friend and her family. ... It was soon discovered that too much of his leg had been left during the amputation, which made it hard for Lucas to run and play. He was getting sores on his stump, and well, we just can’t have that. Last week, Lucas, now Charming, underwent an additional surgery to have the stump removed. He is healing well but doesn’t like having to sit still. Unfortunately, I never got the pleasure of meeting Lucas, as my husband handled the transport for me due to my neck condition. I can’t wait to meet him and give the smart little pup a huge hug! Read Lucas’ story here: https://www.facebook.com/1000003250561//3445318808822254/ #savinghueyfoundation #finishingwhatwestarted

Sometimes we just need someone to believe in us.... My precious Jewel has made such progress. She is no longer hospitalized and is living in a foster home until I can safely take her in. ... I am told that Jewel is a sweetheart. She loves cuddles and the great outdoors. I can’t wait to give her a huge hug and welcome her to Huey’s Second Chance Ranch. *Jewel was found on the streets of Tijuana. She was covered in ticks, which led to tick borne illness, and was suffering from mange and malnutrition. Can you help us save more lives? Every dollar helps us get these babies cared for medically, and brought to the Ranch, for further healing. Kronos Update!!! It’s been two months and Kronos continues to fight the good fight. He’s still undergoing chemotherapy treatments, but he’s doing fantastic! He’s hit a few bumps (stomach issues) on his road to recovery, but has conquered each one. Today, Kronos is out of the hospital and into his foster home. He is being taken to his weekly chemotherapy treatments by his foster momma, and for that I cannot begin to thank her enough. ... I am hoping (so hard) that Kronos can be with us in a couple of weeks. Because of the Distemper we had here, and the chemotherapy that Kronos is receiving, I cannot and will not risk all of his hard work healing up, to satisfy my need to love on this boy. Kronos is a perfect example of the beauty of second chances. I couldn’t be more proud of him. Kronos’ weekly chemo bills are between $150-$200 weekly. If you would like to help us pay his bills, we would be very much appreciative.
