On June 5, 2020, President Trump signed into law the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act, which changes some of the terms of your Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan. The purpose of this legislation is to give borrowers more time to spend PPP loan proceeds and to facilitate eligibility for loan forgiveness. Changes to the terms of your PPP loan include: Reducing the minimum requirement for the use of proceeds for payroll expenses from 75% to 60%. Increasing the t...ime you have to use your PPP loan proceeds from eight weeks to 24 weeks. Extending the deadline to rehire employees to pre-pandemic levels from June 30, 2020, to December 31, 2020, and incorporating additional new exemptions to the requirement to rehire certain employees.
