Certain areas of Santa Paula are cuurently experiencing a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) due to incoming Santa Ana winds. Peak wind gusts are projected betw...een 45 and 65 mph. Minimum humidities will likely lower well below 10% with maximum temperatures between 87 and 97. This is a dangerous situation with an environment ripe for large and fast fire growth - a Red Flag Warning is in effect as a result. If you are experiencing a blackout, please refer to vcemergency.com or www.sce.com/safety/wildfire/psps for the latest updates. View current power outages in Santa Paula here: https://bit.ly/2Mx6STM

K9 Zak, served the community of Santa Paula and SPPD for 5 years from 2010 to 2015. They both did it bravely and with honor. Zak handled numerous dangerous situations without hesitation to protect those around him. Zak was retired in 2015 and lived with his partner, Officer Larry Johnson and his family. He was a hero and will be missed.

Thank you both for your sacrifice and service. ZAK was laid to rest due to complicated medical issues. ZAK finished out his years since 2015 with his partner and family by his side.

I really need to be more specific when I ask Officer Gates for a picture of training.

This is a short video of Django working with our K9 trainer Dan Inglis on his scent work. Several iceboxes were placed around the location. Django searched the yard and immediately found the one containing the contraband.
