A lot of people thought Sgt Gomez was crazy for joining the Marines. At home his mom didn’t want him to leave, she cried for him to stay. She thought He was going to go crazy, go to war and never be the same... His dad was all about it; He had his full support, he couldn’t wait for him to leave . All He wanted to do was make a name for him self and make him family proud. He was at a point in his life where He just wanted more. He wanted to leave everything behind and make it on his own and give back to his family and make them proud. Almost 7 years later He has done just that, his family and friends have seen what and who He has become and are proud and happy with the decision He made. We all fear the unknown, but if you don’t take a step into the unknown you will never know what awaits you on the other side.

What makes a Marine? Commitment, not just to our Corps and our fellow Marines, but to our Nation and those we serve in our communities every day. Integrity worthy of the trust our Nation places in each of us. ... A willingness to fight, and a determination to win. A sense of duty to your Nation and what it can be. What are you made of?
