Congratulations to the Marine Corps League, El Toro Detachment for putting on their 1st Annual Toys for Tots Motorcycle Run at The American Legion Albert E. Schwab Post 555. Over 400 riders, representing the best of the biker community, showed up to support the event. Thank you to ALR 555 and the Young Marines Southwest Unit as well for your part in hosting such a successful event. We look forward to having an even bigger event next year.

The Riders put on a highly successful Bike Night tonight with over 60 people coming from all over the county. A special thanks to the SoCal Chapter of the Kanaka Helikili MC and the Pacific Coast HOGs for coming out to support our efforts. In our own Chapter, thanks to VP Terry Doyle for handling the grill, Julie Gallagher for handling the kitchen set ups, President Scott Robinson, Robert Trudeau, Secretary Weldy & Marie, Good Gene Lucier, Roy D Jr Buell, Randy and Shirley... Roundtree- Jones for running the 50-50, Legion Members Wayne Nowakowski, Debbie Reinbold and Ed Sedlak as well as Andy Timko, Bill and Nancy Ditton and all the members who came out to support us. It's really appreciated. If I missed anyone, I sincerely apologize. If you couldn't make it this month, there's always next month. One of the HOG members took home the $115 50-50, In sorry I didn't get your name. A bottle of Jameson Irish Whiskey donated by the Post was won by another HOG member as well. Thanks, everyone, i hope everyone had a great time. I know I did. See more

Taco Thursday @ Post 555. A great time on the patio.
September Calendar corrected to reflect SAL Dinner on 4th Friday of the month and the ALR Burger Burn Bike Night on the 2nd Friday of the month. Sorry for the confusion.
We have Karaoke on the Patio beginning at 4pm today. You don't have to sing to join in the fun (but it helps). Hamburgers and Brats on the grill. Food purchase required to buy drinks (blame the guv). Masks and social distancing are required.
Unfortunately, due to the underwhelming response we received, the luau will be cancelled at this time. We do have dinners and activities planned for each week next month and beyond but the anticipated expense of the luau could not be justified with the lack of response for tickets. Sorry folks.
Come on down to the post and get your grub on! Auxiliary Dinner $8 5:30-7pm
Don't forget, the Legion Auxiliary is hosting their 3rd Thursday Dinner tomorrow night. Please show some support for our Legion Family by stopping by for dinner on the patio. You can also take your dinner to go if you need to. A custom made Submarine sandwich, pasta salad and dessert for only $8.00. The Triple Nickle will be serving drinks with a dinner purchase. Please bring your mask.
I wanted to let everyone know that Jim Surdock went into the VA Long Beach last night for heart related issues. He is doing fine and has not been in any pain. The doctors will put a stent in tomorrow and he should be home by Friday. He is in good spirits and will appreciate your good wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery. Unfortunately, no visitors are allowed.
You can get the Commander's Flash Briefing delivered to your inbox by clicking the link at the bottom of the page. https://conta.cc/3143qIG
Taco Thursday on the patio!
Don't forget, Thursday is Taco Day at Post 555
Kay Hamby informed us that her husband Russ is in the hospital and could use our prayers. Please keep him and Kay in your thoughts.
District 29 meeting @ Post 555
Don't forget, we have Karaoke on the patio tomorrow, August 2nd at 4 pm. Burgers and Brats on the grill and the annex bar will be open (you have to buy food, of course. Plenty of social distancing on the patio.
